    Sorry to thread jack but i didnt even know MKIII Syncros existed, from my google search (that didnt come up with much) they came vr6? Where they a Euro market only? (i assume so, but possibly Canadian). That car obviously came from Europe. What kind of numbers where they produced? Thanks

    I bought this car without an engine. The transmission has a 4 cylinder bell housing. VERY interesting that this car has NOTHING no power anything, no air conditioning. It is a syncro though. I'm assuming the engine didn't make much power. The owners manual is in German.

    well as of last saturday ; close to midnight of sunday; i joined the lite group of syncro owners...

    it is kind of hard to grasp the idea that it looks almost the same as any of the other 5 passat 16v 5spds i have had before this sedan; but as soon as you take a peek throught the windows inside or open the hood; it is a totally different beast.

    it has lots of rust on the doors; turnl; fuel tank gate area. it is a well used canadian winter driven syncro. i can tale you that.

    it has 15000 kms on a new driveline( new hanger gearings; balanced shaft; stage 3 chip; pulley and rebuilt/ported g-ladder).

    i will try my best to use it as a syncro sedan; but depending on the under car inspection later this week; i will decide if it can still be put to use when the next winter hits...


    specs:

    92 model year
    about 227000 kms on it
    headlight washer system on it
    heated seats on it
    manual window regulators; i still have second looks every time i reach for the window handles...
    no sunroof
    no cruise control; a first for me in a passat
    no mfa; a first also for me in a passat
    no decals on it
    steel rims with winter tires and a extra set of casteletes
    lowering springs on the front

    i will take some pictures tomorrow and post them up...
