Thought we could use a thread here in the ATL for those who would like to share progress/upgrades on their car. If you are not in the ATL area feel free to post your progress too. I don't care.

Ill start it with my project today.

The plan: Rebuild the front calipers, replace the rotors and pads, and put my new wheels on. Had an extra set of Girling 54s I decided to rebuild before I took everything apart. Unfortunenitly The carriers I grabbed were 10.1 so I had to swap the carriers before I put the rebuilds on. Well I also wasnt able to put all of my wheels on before it started to rain. Incredibly Inefficient Crew Member right here. Anyways here is the pics.

    The car

    The calipers

    The pads and rotors

    Warped a55 rotors

New rotors, pads, and rebuilt calipers installed

    The new wheel

Pics of the jettas progress is comming soon.

    Now that is tasty, Jason.

Got a new windshield today. Replaced my manual tranny fluid this past weekend and all new belts the weekend before that.
It never ends, but that is the way I like it.

    Today:

1.) Ordered new ARP head studs/rod bolts for the Jetta motor

2.) Decided to go ahead and have the Falcon rollbacked here. Hopefully it will be here sometime later this week or early next.

3.) Bid on a gauge cluster for the Falcon on Ebay.

4.) Ordered some engine building tools... ring compressor, ring installer, cylinder hone.

Heres a pic of the headgasket I blew, well more burnt than blew, in the jetta. Still waiting to get the dual exhaust setup from eric and Ive gotta get a cat. Then I will be on the road. Get it back to a 4 cylinder instead of a 2 cylinder.

    The car

    The gasket

Perfectly between cylinder 2 and 3

HAHA Yes from woodstook. This is the car I wanna put the rear beam in but now Im starting to believe this car is crabwalking because of the suspension on the front driverside. The damn wheel sticks too far out. I bought it from a dude that owns a wrecker service. I had to change the driverside tierod just to drive the car. Then I noticed the passenger a-arm was bent as well. Then when I went to get it aligned I saw the passenger rear was toed out. This car is really effed up. I noticed everything stems from when the jackass that Brian from Eurotech sold it to apparently doesnt like getting into a cold car and the e-brake doesnt work well. I guess it rolled down a hill hit a bunch of crap. Dude any advice to why that corner of the car sucks so bad would really help. And Pedro if you got an idea as to how to fix it fill me in. I can only think its the suspension, the strut mount, or the a-arm. Tell me tell me tell me..........please.

replaced drivers side control arm and ball joint. replaced front and rear motor/trans mounts(used but good for now). put my bilsteins in the front. this was on this. it has jetta steelies on it now.

here's the old front and rear mount it dropped and kind of wedged it self so it would not rock back and forth.

i have also been trying to figure out some weird sound my gli has been making. i can hear it in side the car but not outside it. sounds kind of like a card in a bicycle tire. also on the gli replaced the pass axle and found it was low on gearoil so i topped it off.

    what trade?

I think he was refferring to trading the Landrover for an M3, right?

Anyway, the Falcon will be arriving at about 3 tomorrow. I talked to the previous owner again today, and he said that the brakelights/taillights were working, but that while he was working with routing the ignition wiring he might have unplugged the harness connector for them. So hopefully its as simple as plugging them back in.

Changed injector o-rings, gave up on the intake manifold gasket, cleaned a bit. Then sent her to Dwight Harrison to have the fuel mixture adjusted and found out the WOT switch is bummed, got a new coolant temp sensor, new O2 sensor, trying to source an exhaust leak (it's unfortunately BEFORE the o2 sensor...) and found that one of the honeycomb plates in my cat has broken loose. Also found out that very recently the alternator belt started getting chewed by something

BUT after all this it should be running like a 16v again - Kris look out.

Also got some misc. interior parts and an Audi sunroof motor and two Audi electric sunroof Bezel things (one with a dome light!). Maybe I'll keep, maybe I'll sell... who knows.

Also need to order a caliper rebuild kit, find some sliders for my Recaros, and source some more MKIII dash parts (The swap is coming )
