heheheh, my car has been sitting the same way for almost a year now with no new goodies in some time!!! Well, time for change.![]()
Goodbye 174hp, and goodbye 4000rpm intake rattle (curtisy from Rob@flipside Customs)
As the car looks now....
And how the car sits in the garage as of 10min ago. Starting to take the engine bay apart!!!
And the important stuff going in the engine bay
Starting the work tomorrow, tomorrows agenda is to loose the plastie mani, and exhaust mani all the way back to exhaust tips.

Please let me know how this goes. I have heard tuning the engine and getting everything in sync after you put the turbo in the VR6 is a PAIN.

Who's doing the programming and what fueling you plan on running?

But as you say, turbo VR's are a pain. not expecting this all to be a walk in the park, but the guys at C2 motorsports are great with software tuning, i also intend for this to be my first car to use standalone engine management later on down the road

Yes, using an mkIII lower mani, and MKIII fuel rail, lower intake mani is at the machine shop getting resurfaced, hot bathed, and powdercoated black

There are ways to tune a VRT that make the car run more or less seamlessly.1. Jeff Atwood (C2 MS) makes great software for VRT's. His software makes VRT's run very smoothly. (ex: Herbehop, TekstepVR6)
2. HPA. If you have the money, you could pony up and buy the HPA kit. It too will run near perfect.
3. (my personal fave) Standalone Engine Management. Possibly the best option for taking complete control of your tuning. However, you MUST know what you're doing. But for the 12v VR6 you could run MS and be all set. Wouldn't set you back too much either.
Yep, exactly, im going to get the car running on C2 software to get going, and later on down the road i plan on trying out standalone for the first time. I can honestly say i dont know much at all about standalone and tuning, but fully intend on learning with this VRT im building.![]()

Are 440 injectors really going to maximize what this car can do? I would think you would want to go larger. Sick project though, I wish I had gotten a vr just so I could have done this. That turbo looks perty too![]()
