Thread: Ask a VW Parts Guy....U.S. Version

    1. 04-19-2007 12:39 PM #551
part # for the 17" classicX?

    2. 04-19-2007 12:59 PM #552
I have a cracked windshield on an 07 GTI. It's the Green glass but I may as well replace it with the blue from the 06 GTI because I like that better. What is the part number for the blue glass?

1K0-845-011-BC or 1K0-845-011-DG depending on the VIN number for the blue glass.

Ok, I have to start out by sounding dumb...but here goes. Do you know for sure you have TPMS? If so, how? I know it was an option for 2006. If you do, and the computer does not have it, I don't know what he solution would be. I would suggest talking with your Service Manager and VW Customer Care.

LOL... doesn't sound dumb. There are 2 major parts to the NA TPMS, pressure sensors mounted to the wheel and a specific CCM that receives the radio signals from the sensors in the wheels. From what I gather, '06 GTI's with 18" Huffs got the sensors in the wheels but may not have gotten the right CCM for it to function. I fall into this category and wanted to know what the right CCM part number was so I can swap it out and have functioning TPMS.

      SoftballBud31,
Back on page 6 of this thread you posted part numbers for the rubber door pocket inserts for a 2 door GTI. I was wondering if the 2 door versions would fit a 4 door? If not, do you have parts numbers for the 4 door versions?
      Thanks

I'm looking for a few oddball parts.
I need the part number for the A/C duct that runs down the center console and exits at the end of the armrest. But, the one that has the side-duct that runs into the center console. Also needing the part number for the console insert (anthracite) that has the vent flow control knob.
      TIA

      hi bud
when getting 18in hufs, VW always states "Must be used in conjunction with Suspension Limiter Kit 000071501"
Is Suspension Limiter Kit 000071501 the bum stops that people talked about?
Are there 4 bumstops in one kit or you have to order part no: 000071501 x 4 for the 4 rims?
My GTI comes with 17in wheels, do i really have to install this part in order to fit 18in hufs?
      thanks for your help

No, suspension limiters in this case are not bump stops. The are small round foam disc that are on the struts/shocks to reduce the suspension travel under a heavy load, and keep the car from "bottoming out".
I can tell you I have seen a number of cars with upgraded wheels with no suspension limiters and no problems. Where you might get that "bottoming out" effect is with a full car of passengers and a load in the trunk.
The limiters are sold as a set of four. The fronts are very easy to install, but to install the rears properly, you have to unbolt the shock tower.

Is it black, or painted the same color as the car?

No, they do not come painted. However, there is one available that has a textured black finish to it. The other option is primed for paint. The part number for the primed version is 3B4-839-879-A-GRU and retails for about $12.00 without paint.
