      Simple question

Are the US GTI stock sideskirts (not the Votex ones, just the standard ones) the same length/size etc as the US R32 sideskirts?

I know they are different part #'s b/c the US R32 sideskirts are smooth/not textured.

      Thanks.

I have to assume they are the same. I ordered a set of R32 sideskirts and the customer has already installed them on his MKV GTI.

OK, yes, but it is essentially an aftermarket part... because US dealers can't get them... because they are not a US part.

I believe that places like OEMpl.us gets them from the part manufacturer - not VW.

Yes, U.S. Dealers can get them. But the number in ETKa has a block off plate that you simple remove. (no dremil tools, just a couple of snaps).

I'm interested in this 20hp upgrade on the 08s and I'm hoping you can answer.

I know that it involves intake and software changes, but I've received mixed messages as to the ability for current 2.5L owners (06/07) to get the power upgrade. I have an 06 rabbit, and I've been told that it would be impossible to get changes made at my dealership, but I've also read that it will be fairly easy to do.

Can anyone give the definite answer?
      Thanks in advance

I do not have a difinitive answer, but what I have heard is that the upgrade is not programming, but mechanical...larger intake, bigger valves. I will try to confirm this.

I need a list of part numbers from the 2007 Jetta. I have the diagram below. I tried to search but I'm not sure if it was the same part that I want....

      1-Upper grille
      6-Frame moulding
7-Lower outer right and left grill
      8-Lower grill centre
      9-Lower right and left moulding

      Thanks in advance!

Thanks. Why vw made is so hard to find things like that

Actually, I have another question: the bracket from the picture below in my Jetta has no spot for the self-leveling controller. Could you find out the part no. for the one with the spots to install the controller (GTI/GLI I guess)? I would be grateful for the drawing (I need to know how big it is and if the replacement requires taking out the whole dash board) and price.

Any pic from the catalog will be pretty generic, but I will post it up and see if it helps you. When you say the self levelling sensor, are you talking about the Yaw Sensor?

I think most manufacturer's call it a package tray. There are two choices, one for vehicles with luggage net and one without.

      1K6-867-769-F-HH2 without luggage net
      1K6-867-769-G-HH2 with luggage net

Both retail for $286.18. The second item listed does not come with a luggage net, in simply is set up to accomidate one.

It is self-leveling (or headlight range or auto-leveling) controller (the sensors for this controller are at the suspension arms), located under the dash on the passenger side. Here is a link to the thread I was trying to locate it: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3309542

It seems it is installed in a slightly different way then Bentley describes, hence the whole research of the right bracket.

Here is the pic from ETKA for a Jetta Front Grille:

The part numbers are listed below by item# in the pic:

      #1 1K0-807-243-2ZZ (LEFT - CHROME)
      #1 1K0-807-244-2ZZ (RIGHT - CHROME)
      #3 1K0-853-101-2ZZ (CHROME)
      #4 1K5-853-653-A-9B9 (BLACK GRILLE)
      #5 1K5-853-761-A-2ZZ (CHROME)

You may notice no number assigned to the grill inserts where the fogs are located, they are in a different catalog. The numbers for those inserts are:

      LH- 1K0-853-665-F-9B9
      RH- 1K0-853-666-F-9B9
      Center - 1K0-853-677-C-9B9

did a quick search couldn't find much info.. with a 08 Rabbit or GTI with TPMS standard, would you have to get a 2nd set of TPM valves for a set of winter tires? or you can run a 2nd set of rims without em? if you have to get em how much are they a piece?

My understanding is if you don't mind the light, drive the car. Your other options would be to vag the car and turn it off. Buy a set of sensors, or swap them on and off ehich is a PIA every time you switch from winter to summer and back.

so essentially if you don't want to spend extra $ drive with the warning light on in winter time or Vag it ... either way you won't have that function avail in the winter anyways.. if the sensors are relatively cheap I'd get a set though.. how much do they run?

The number for that splash shield is 1K0-825-235-AB and it retails for about $60.00.

That has a two piece fender liner. Are you looking for just the front piece, or do you need both pieces?

Here is the pic from ETKA for a Jetta Front Grille:

The part numbers are listed below by item# in the pic:

      #1 1K0-807-243-2ZZ (LEFT - CHROME)
      #1 1K0-807-244-2ZZ (RIGHT - CHROME)
      #3 1K0-853-101-2ZZ (CHROME)
      #4 1K5-853-653-A-9B9 (BLACK GRILLE)
      #5 1K5-853-761-A-2ZZ (CHROME)

You may notice no number assigned to the grill inserts where the fogs are located, they are in a different catalog. The numbers for those inserts are:

      LH- 1K0-853-665-F-9B9
      RH- 1K0-853-666-F-9B9
      Center - 1K0-853-677-C-9B9

THanks a lot for all the help. I have a couple of questions regarding this.

1-On the ETKA, the #4 item (1k5-853-653-A-9B9), the black grill, is there chrome on it? if not is there a part number for the one with chrome?

2- Do you have the number of the lower side (left and right) grills with the fog insert?

3- On the ETKA, part #3 (1K0-853-101-2ZZ) do you have one without chrome? Cause I'm probably going to color match it.
