In all seriousness, I haven't been to a PAR GTG in years...like since 2005ish, back when it was in the PAR lot. I am aware that it has recently been overtaken by some JDM guys which I really have no problem with because I like all cars and would rather see a mix of cars anyway. Tonight was the first time I attended and was blown away by the turnout. I was also blown away by the amount of stupidity going on, mainly bikes revving and whatnot. I would not bother going again, and honestly I have a feeling this will end soon. Anyway, as we were walking back to my car in the PAR lot there were a bunch of cop cars parked right there, and a cop approached my friend and I asking for info on who organized this and how we found out about it etc...he also said that this is going to end because its out of control. I didn't have an explanation for him, because well I have known about "PAR" for about 10 years now, and said I used to come here years ago and came to meet some old friends. I was also under assumption that the cops were already forewarned about this gtg by the people who organized it into this, but apparently this cop had no idea who was in charge and wanted to know to tell him/her to cancel it permanently. While this cop was asking me for info there was still a ton of commotion going on across the street and he said, tonight everyone is lucky because he is letting everyone go, not writing tickets etc (easily could have been as bikes/cars were speeding down 46). This is the 2nd GTG I have gone to this year, and both were similar in execution with idiots running around, bikes revving etc and out of control. What ever happened to organizing a GTG where people just come to enjoy cars/bikes, is this a thing of the past?

I posted here for the sake of this was a VW based GTG for years and from what the cop said it will get shut down, maybe not, but just from what I saw I think the end is near.

before it got blown up on the interwebs (4 weeks ago now), it was still the same (more or less) VW crowd showing up whenever they could, hanging out at Applebees and then in the lot after. If euroton (3.8.werks' bbq/gtg/show) is any indication, the VW community can still gather in one place without causing a ruckus, even when more than the anticipated numbers show up.

the FB event for the parsippany meet was taken down by the JDM guys, who said the meet just grew too big too fast and were going to let it die down for a while. re: the police not knowing who organized it, apparently it was a different squad than was monitoring the lot the past couple of weeks, so maybe that's why. either way, the "organizers" figured it out and had the same idea

I was speaking to one of the cops last night and he said that the property owner called the cops and complained about everyone being there and he wanted everyone off his property. I personally don't think the cops are going to allow anyone to hang here anymore. As long as there is one group hanging out, there is always going to be a chance that something like this can happen again.

Mk6 and Dzemo tt on 3inch lip Rs`s..I couldnt even find my man Phil..apparently we had sucha hard time getting around the parking lot and even finding parking spot to chatt with all you guys..its highly dissapointing to see that the parking lot is overrun by this type of group revving and peeling out..Let CwNy know if the meet is getting moved elsewhere or not..
