Thread: distributor cap with side plug connectors?

    1. 01-30-2007 01:59 PM #1
So I've heard rumor of a distributor cap for the 16v off an old volvo that has the plug wires and coil wires off the side of the cap rather than the top.

Does anyone have a part number or a year/make/model for this guy? I have a slight interference issue with my dual master cylinder setup and the stock 16v distributor. I can remote mount the MC resivour to solve part of the problem, but getting the plug wires out of the way would be even more helpful!

here's a few pics that show the problem:

last a really sweet ITB shot from the front

I know about the volvo cap being flat but I know for sure the cap from a 740 (the one that is flat) will not bolt up to the stock distributor.....I know the stock abf cap (or audi in europe) comes out the top instead of the side.......if this helps
      Plenty of parts for sale!

This one is from a Fiat X1/9, it's bosch part number 03181.

Thanks Randy @ Techtonics for the pointer in the right direction...

you could always run a crank position sensor.. I'm thinking of doing that on mine.

Yeah seriously, does this REALLY work for a 16v?
