2005 passat 1.8t Gear indicator all light up at same time !! Help Help

Hi fellow bros,

need some advise.
i am on Revo stage 1, forge, full turbo back 2.5 catless.
boost 9, timing 6.

yesterday, i gun the throttle big time and the rpm shoot up to 6-7000rpm.
the power hasnt come in cos of Tiptronic.
suddenly there was a big "thuk" and the gear indicator light on the dashboard all light up. ( RND12345 all lighted at the same time ) No engine check light.

thereafter, the car drove like no power and was stuck in gear 3/4 cos rpm about 4-5000 but not much power......
i stopped the car, off engine.....waited for 30mins....restarted....then the light went off and back to normal.
However, the gear felt much rougher (i could be anal or oversensitive here).

any idea what happened ?

The TCM went into emergency running mode to prevent damage to the transmission. That's why you got the reverse image of the PRND432 where the background was red and characters black. THe TCM limits the functionality of the transmission so the car can be driven. My guess is the TCM could not rationalize the 7000 or more rpm and thought the transmission speed sensor might be failing and went into this mode. Ususally, turning the car off and restarting resets it as it did in your case unless the TCM still sees a sensor input problem.

i basically went from freak-out mode on my passat to WOW-mode.

didn know even the transmission got a built in safety mechanism or computer working in the background.....

Hi everyone,

bought a cheap obdfactory cable and used the version 409 to check my passat..........after playing with virtual port for half a day....anyway...

i got the fault code
17968 - max engine speed exceeded / engine warranty void
p1560 - 35 - 10 - intermitten

what does this mean ? must i undertake rectifying measures ?
like changing atf oil ( changed at 30k, now 44k )
