When I was into anime Evangelion was my favorite. I have all of the vhs' And the last few dvds rebirth, the end.

Now days, I love all of the Miyazaki/studio Gihbli stuff. Pom Poco was one I recently saw about a japanese folktale on shape shifting raccoons.

    Fate: Stay Night

I just finished watching the whole series, awesome anime. The fighting scenes are superb and animation top notch.

Beats Bleach in many areas, the series is short and sweet.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, has always been one of my favorites. The Last Unicorn was dope too, not really anime, but was subcontracted to Miyazaki.

Did anyone else like Yu Yu Hakusho? It was on Cartoon Network when every other anime series they showed was reruns. I was getting into that pretty well when they stopped showing it

Anyone watching Gunslinger Girl on IFC? Being a semi-casual fan (though I started with StarBlazers, yo ), I'm liking this series and the concepts about Govt. agents being half robot (or whatever), half unwanted little girl.

Most of the Yuyu fans are dissappointed because of the terrible voice acting like Kurama's voice acting.

Don't let that stop you from liking the movie, It came out of nowhere and absolutely kicked @$$.

The rape scene was the only way that the first "demon" was weakened enough to be defeated. and I don't exactly recall the snake coming from her ******, I remember it being a tattoo that encircled her body and came to life...Ie those scenes weren't in there just for the hell or gratuitousness of it , they were integral to the plot.

Gunsmith Cats is the only one that caught and kept my attention long enough.

Hot chicks with cool firearms and badass cars. Yeah, that's a show for me.

If you liked Cowboy Bebop, and you haven't already, try Samurai Champloo (subbed not dubbed)...you won't regret it

El Hazard: The Magnificent World OVA is my favorite anime of all time. The english dubbing is fantastic, it's the only anime I've ever seen that I prefer in english. I guess that's not entirely true, the Cowboy Bebop series and its dubbing were incredible as well.

Riding Bean and Dagger of Kamui are excellent old school titles, and thanks to youtube I'm up to Bleach Episode 43 in less than a week. I also want to continue Naruto (only at episode 47) and pick up Samurai Champloo. Alot of catching up to do.

Many Bleach fans like myself are opposed to dubbing Bleach. Since the story is mainly centers around Japanese superstition and culture. Not only the dubbing is bad, the translations are awkward and difficult.

They changed "shinigami" into Soul reapers when they translate as "Death Gods." I think the translators are afraid that it would offend Christians if they use "Death + God" together.

Then all those special attacks like Byakuya's "Senbon Sakura" would sound really stupid directly translated into English.

Ban-kai sounds really cool in Japanese, wonder how are they going to translate that..

Any of you guys watch Rahxephon? It's basically the layman's Evangelion. Similar themes, but the animation is smokin' on it. After watching it, it's hard to go back to Eva, but Eva clearly has the better story.

...so close...less than 40 episodes behind. I will catch up...I gotta finish the bount arc still.

Probably have to start reading the manga hopefully the local library carries it. I started watching the dub, and was fairly content, but it was once a week, so I just started watching it on youtube. I still watch the dub just to watch it since its the only thing good on tv at that time. But I do think the naruto dub turns me off, I cant get into it at all.

ALso tried watching prince of tennis, but the way sports fictional movies are, they get too predictable

though many people disliked the Bounto Arc...i still felt it necessary because as somone stated the anime can't past the manga...like it or not it made the Vaizard/Arrancar Arc well worth the wait...

i finished Prince of Tennis last month (178 eps.) i have no life...

Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid

The Bounto arc is completely TV only, does not touch or effect anything in the manga. Its a filler since the manga is only a chapter every 1-2 weeks and each TV episode can cover 9-12 chapters in 25mins.

I'm actually afraid that in 2 months the anime will go into filler mode again because at this pace, they will catch up to the manga. Probably why no episode last week.

Agreed. This is the only anime I own on DVD.

It's actually pretty depressing to me that in the ~10 years sine I first saw it nothing has come close to Ninja Scroll in over all awesomeness

I have to add that the animation in Appleseed is probably the best I've ever seen.
