Claymore 24 is out: wow, I don't know what to say. Its a completely different arc at this point than the manga plot.

I'm not sure if I'm happy or dissappointed. It seems like Claymore may not have another season to continue the long story plot. Who knows.

Claymore will be cut off at 26 episodes. It will only air through next Wednesday (9/26/07)

Oh I'm aware of that. My assumption is Season 1 will end next week and the story will break off somewhere before the next big turn of events in the manga which can become Season 2 anime.

Right now the story plot in the anime has arc'ed from the manga. Like I said, I'm not sure if this is good or bad. If there's no 2nd season, I'll be disappointed because the story is far from over.

Hirako is always da man. Sometimes I get fed up with the typical Ichigo getting pounded scenes then to be saved by others who were supposedly inferior but turns out to be superior to Ichigo in skills.

It seems in the manga we have a new hot sexy character that just came out, somebody who can give Matsumoto stiff competition.

My question is why are all these animated movies/ series etc chalk full of mindless graphic violence and obsessed with evil spritisim. I tried, hence tried to watch many of these and couldn't get through the first 5-10 min before stopping and retuning them. I found them very very disturbing. These are surely not for me.
I have to say though the animation/ the colors/ drawing etc on some of these are spectacular.

I'm slowly finding myself fed up with the unlimited animes. Animes that have no foreseeable ending, and they continue onward with no real progress. Examples: Naruto, Bleach, and once upon a time, Dragon Ball Z. I think a GOOD anime is restricted to a certain amount of episodes, thereby having a beginning, middle and end. Perfect examples: Eureka 7, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Heroic Age, etc etc. The only anime that follows the typical Dragon Ball formula that remotely interests me is HSD Kenichi.

Only problem there is the fact that Bleach and afaik Naruto are both based off still in print Mangas.

and as a result you'll have half a page of manga converted into an entire episode of anime. Which is ridiculous, a battle between two characters shouldn't last 7-8 episodes/two months, when its covered in the manga in about 6 pages.

Just stopping in, and it may have been posted before, i only browsed like 3 pages of this thread...

Kung Fu Jimmy Chow. This is hilarious. All the episodes are good. They poke fun of some anime cliche's but the fighting scenes and the way it is animated are really cool I think. Some funny lines thrown in as well. Check it out.

Well, the same can be said for sports and TV shows in general. Why watch Desperate Housewives, week after week of the same melodrama?

Why watch baseball or football, same action? I'm a sports fan but I find your argument more of a preference thing than a true one.

Like any other TV shows like Heroes or Lost, there is the same script that animes uses. Except in anime world, its easy to stretch things and make things look completely crazy.

There are animes that don't contain violence at all, just peachy stuff if you're interested.

If you need a recommendation on an anime, feel free to ask about the type of genre you like to watch and I'll be happy to recommend you some.

Anime isn't all violence or sex. One of the newest animes out, Les Miserables, which is a Japanese anime rendition of the same story on Broadway.

If you look at TV shows, its all about ratings. The reason Bleach & Naruto had no endings because these popular anime TV shows generate ad revenue and it doesn't matter if they air weeks of fillers or fighting scenes rehashed, people watch them because they are fans.

There are many animes that has a begin + end but only to get fans writing back and demanding encores or new series.

Good example is Evangelion, it ended abruptly without a clear ending. Now its been ressurrected into a new series. Unlike Gundam, they're not gonna make tons of spinoffs and side stories.

Yes and Shonen JUMP has a large readership of their mangas, mangas are so popular in Japan, they can easily top the Barnes & Nobles top book sales, I think Naruto actually made it to the US top 40 book sales charts a few times.

Personally I enjoy mangas a lot more than animes because they usually have more depth and I always go back and re-read some chapters for a different perspective.

I watch anime series just for the enjoyment of the art.

k I'm all up to date on Claymore

For some reason the story's momentum slowed down a little bit for me but it was still great.

So who here thinks Clare and Raki did it at some point?

They probably will in the manga. In the anime, Raki is still like 12 years old, and still an absolute pansy

I went to the Big Apple Anime Festival two years in a row. (2003 and 2004) located in the Marriott Marquis Hotel in midtown. You can't beat that. I'm looking forward to the New York Anime Festival at the Jacob Javits Center in December. Always wanted to check some out-of-state conventions like Otakon.

Darker than Black sort of ended abruptly, just when things are starting to get good, they decide to pull the plug on it. Maybe 2nd season will continue where they left off since there are lots of chars in the series that had some interesting elements but got no development.

Anyways, the new Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, remake movie came out in Japan and became likea big hit in Japan.
