    From Formula1.com site

Formula One racing mixed with a historic location is a recipe guaranteed to pull in not just fans, but famous fans at that. We caught up with just a handful who were at Indianapolis to enjoy a thrilling US Grand Prix weekend…

A Formula One virgin at Indy was R&B superstar and multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning producer and songwriter Pharrell Williams, who cruised between the paddock and the Paddock Club to get an in-depth taste of what Grand Prix racing is all about. “How did I first get to know about Formula One? I was dating some girl who used to date guys from F1. I got interested by the stories she told. Then this kid Lewis Hamilton comes along and turns this sport upside down by breaking a record every time he gets into his car, so I decided to get in contact with him - and that’s why I am here. And boy, this is quite something! I thought that I would be given a beer in a brown paper bag and a hot dog and be seated somewhere in a grandstand - I had no idea that I was going to face high gastronomy! The beef I was served was the best I have ever eaten - better than Kobe beef. In fact this cow must have been massaged with body lotion. And then the grid! Talking to Lewis minutes before the race starts - watching him get ready for his battle. And the race - adrenalin from a distance, thinking you are in the ca, hoping that you can make a difference by wishing that your favourite will win. Of course that’s foolish, but the excitement really gets you into this. This weekend really got me hooked.”

From what I understand, he still lives with his folks. Time to get a nice little modest flat... in Monaco.

Don't fret, you'll still have Alonso and good old Jense.

Someone was saying a black person would get upset if they were called black.

I don't know any person who would be upset to be called black or a white person to be called white.

I'll tell you something, his race only seems to be of interest in the US.

Over here in the UK, they mentioned he was the first black guy in F1 at the start of the season, and then it's never been mentioned or brought up again. Perhaps we're more enlightened on this side of the pond!

I couldn't give two hoots what his racial ancestry is, he's bloody brilliant!

  17. 06-20-2007 12:40 PM #122
I read on the F1 site that Pharrell had heard about him and wanted to be friends, seems cool enough, It said he was really excited about seeing an F1 race for the first time. I bet he had good seats.

I was worried that the partying would be a distraction. I was wrong. Hopefully he gets away clean. This track has no passing zones. Should be a good one.

I'd like to see him race again this season, but the only cheap tickets are in China.

It would be fair to say that due to Kimi's run-off that he lost Pole and not that "Hammy" wiped it away! The difference between pole and second is a mere .100 of a second, so to suggest that Kimi "handed" pole to Hamilton is probably a bit more accurate. You're welcome.
    Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Handed, taken...you say potato, I say po tato... All semantics, and hindsight is 20/20. But I do agree that Kimi, may have push it to, if down to the high 1:16th and some 1/10's, which would've definitely bested Shumi's fastest at Silverstone.

That was a very HOT lap...

Today wasn't to be. I cant help but think having had a long relationship w/ Bridgestone tips in Ferrari's favor. Maybe they were sabotaged in the 1st half of the season. Ferrari is looking very fast. He's got a cushion, so he can come in 2nd for a few races till they get the speed.

That's a big NEGATORY! All teams have a new redesigned Bridgestone tire(s) for '07. No advantage for the Scuderia here.

Yes, but it's not out of the question that the carcass evolved from tires born of the Ferrari partnership. I think it would be ridiculous to discount the possibility.

Only if Ferrari would have easily dominated every race thusfar AND the remaining teams would be complaining about lack of grip due to the tires. Not the case.

Negative, because I find it hard to believe that Bridgestone ditched all they learned from the Ferrari partnership and created a brand new control tire from absolutely nothing. Tires are constructed from performance reference points. Fact.

This is the quote being argued. This is after the second consecutive Ferrari win (Silverstone). Mclaren won 4 races and Ferrari 5, sofar. To chalk up Ferrari's wins due to a seeming advantage by having worked with Bridgestone is flat out nonsense. Next!
