also the new treasure hunts for 2012 ARE on green stripe cards. it's the $UPER treasure hunt that is not and it is a completely different car than the regular one.

so the easiest way to find it is to look for rubber tires and the spectraflame paint job.

the regulars are still on green cards but are utterly worthless as far as trying to sell them. your lucky to see $3 out of the regulars. still worth buying i guess but not worth looking for.

I picked up a Nichimo Lotus Esprit 1:24 kit, new in box. It has a decal from Toyway Letchworth England on the box. Scored at a thrift store.

What is the thinking on kits these days - assemble or leave un-assembled in box?

I have been collecting any VW's for about 2 years now, but never paid attention to anything else. I started reading this thread and learned about treasure hunts only yesterday.

I figure I should look for other things too while I look for my VW's.. Any tips on what I should be looking for? Someone also mentioned to look fire red writing on the tires of "the big ones" series.. Does this mean I can just look at them from underneath without reading the card just to see if there is writing on the wheels?

I found one green treasure hunt yesterday, but if I read correctly, the good treasure hunts aren't green and have rubber tires?

I am a truck driver and frequent many walmarts and targets and kmarts all over the place. And I always check the toys for VW's.. I might as well look for some real collectors stuff while I'm at it.

I'd really appreciate some tips on what to look for and how to look fast.

Good score at Wal Mart last night.

Couple of Hot Wheels I haven't seen locally before.

Ansd finally found the Mega Bloks McLaren! They had this one, and about a dozen of the Datsun GTRs.

They just came out. The 5 packs aren't generally rare. They warm the pegs longer than individual cars. That is unless there's a sale on.

If anybody is looking for one I was at my local Wal-Mart last night and they had two of these. I didn't buy them as I don't collect VW's, but I know majority of you guys do. Just PM me if someone is trying to track these down and I can pick 'em up:

Some of my pickings from the last 2 weeks. Running out space at work, which is where I keep most of my 1/43s.
