Hey on my mk4 when I crank my coilovers all the way down my way swaybar starts to squeak is there a comparable shorter sway bar link or do I need to have my exsiting links shortened.

I've been an inactive creeper for awhile, so it's time I spoke up.

If anyone is interested, we could do another cruise and then get-together at my place like we did before.. (two years ago, i think?)

I'm open to hosting if that's what works. We could plan a better route as well.

Hello to the VW community here in Duluth. Been on here and EW for a while, mostly tracking down parts for my current debacle/project. I would love to cruise, but need my ride back on the road. I really need a decent TRW rack and was wondering if anyone has one they could let go reasonably. Hope to start meeting some of you soon on some great drives. We have a bunch of them available to us here. I've been thinking Hwy 1 from Ely. Long day, but a fun drive.

Welcome, glad to see another 1.8T coming to the area We didn't get together last year at all here in Duluth, I think this year will be different as Andy has already showed interest in having everyone go for a cruise and go to his place afterwards and have a BBQ....

Haven't been on in a while…but yeah I've got tig and mig welders. I haven't done aluminum with the tig yet, but I've got a spool gun for aluminum with the mig. I used it for intercooler piping, its tough but does work. Currently my tig is at SVS, I don't have working 220 in my garage anymore hopefully that will change in a few weeks though.

We need a car cruise soon! I've been driving the 02 around a little bit the last few days, and Andrea has driven it to work a couple times last week. I've got a decent backyard that can support a get together. I live up in Woodland. Maybe next Sunday we can plan something? Or even Saturday afternoon. Anyone interested in next weekend?

Cool. The likelyhood for a large get together with such short notice is small. But if we dont have a massive group we can definitely use my house in Woodland. Maybe go for a cruise somewhere around noon, grill afterwards and Andy's house or mine.

Anyone on here that's pretty confident with troubleshooting wiring problems? Preferably on an MK3. I'd like to figure out what the deal is with my front driver side window and why my locks automatically engage when I start the car. My mirror adjusters and center console lock don't work either. These problems are only a couple months old.

I'm off all next week and would appreciate any takers. I can pay in homebrew!

    Hey all.

I'm wondering if anyone knows someone around town that does rust removal/repair and will paint a vehicle exterior. It doesn't have to be a stellar job, but at least descent. Otherwise, I'll learn and do it myself. Thanks!

Bought a Westy yesterday. She's a good runner. But she needs some love Cosmetically. Should be a sweet project with great rewards!! She's a 1982 Westfalia diesel, 4speed manual. Drove er from St. Cloud to Duluth yesterday. Pics to come.

I didn't see the cruise stuff till the day of. I am down down for hosting, I have a decent sized yard now with a fire bit and a charcoal grill.

What we should really do is make a facebook event... As much as I hate facebook I check it more than I check this thread.

There's a local guy that did some repair and paint on my Jetta without costing an arm and a leg. I think his business is called Pirkila Auto Body. I'm sure that spelling is wrong, but I can find his number if you're interested.

Oh, and I am still down for hosting a get-together after a cruise!

Although, somehow I have managed to misplace any and all keys for my car so I'm working on resolving that. Once I am able to actually start my Jetta, I am down for planning something.

its pretty fast... it pegs out the 25 psi boost gauge. but to be honest im not exactly sure what all is done to it. when i bought it it needed some tlc so it got the paint and a couple little things like the fan module. but when we get to duluth youre more than welcome to check it out and maybe you can tell me more about what all is done to it. its got quite a bit of forge happening under the hood and koni suspension. along with neuspeed full sway kit. its my pride and joy.

First off, The car's physically fine, no flood damage. But, after nearly 48 hours of rain, it won't start. It's a 97' GLS. I've replaced the coil pack and the MAF. After both of these, I've continued to have the issue after a night of rain but it would usually go away. I'm kind of at my wits end when hunting through forums about a solution for this, so I may have to bring it in... I'd rather not. Does anyone on here have any experience working on the MK3s and any of their issues? I'm in Duluth near Chester Park and have work off tonight. Anyone available after 5 to take a look with me? shoot me a PM

    Thanks,

    Erik

Sorry guys! I got married and haven't been back! You know how it is Anyway, lookin' to gtg with other Vdubbers. I got to change out my heater core, not looking forward to that, but other than that Auggie is hanging in there. I did represent at the LSC Dennis Godfrey memorial car show. I lost out to some BMW that probably cost as much as my house Would have liked to see more representation.
Also, checked out the FB thing and nothing popped up. I'll try to check back with this more.
