does anyone know a common problem for mk2 starters? i had mine not work for me today. i took off the red wire and that didn't work. i hit it some more and that didn't work. i took the wire off and hit some more, tried to start the car and it didnt start. i looked again and i forgot to put the wire back on so i did and it started. so i dont know if it was the wire or the hitting that made it start. any comments?

I just talked to an older guy driving a 1980 scirocco. He is the original owner and only dirves it in the summer..... and he is looking to sell. As far as I could tell the car looked mint from 20 ft away. He did say there was a little rust but I could not see it. Anyways he said he will be calling me, I don't know when, but if anybody is interested let me know. There are not many of these around. This is the only one in duluth I am sure. I might just buy it myself if his price is right.
