      Are they 5x100 bolt pattern?
It looks like the name brand version of an older stock MK3 gti wheel.

You've pretty much identified them. I think they made a multi-piece version as well. The Bugatti by BBS was also released around the same time. They were very similar to A3 Jetta GLX wheels and these were very similar to A3 GTI VR6 wheels.

The BBS Pininfarina is the MK3 GTI VR6 wheel (at least in 1997) and the BBS Bugatti (7 spoke) is the MK3 Jetta VR6 wheel (again, 1997).
They were 15x7" and only available in painted silver (OE).
There were multiple sizes, finishes (including gunmetal and carbon-look) and even 3-piece look for those models direct from BBS.
They are HARD to find now.
What else do you need to know?

Never seen one in chrome. I remember seeing an Alfa GTV6 with a set when they were new, looked sweet. The 7 spoke sounds like the T4 Caravelle rim, 15" and 5x112 iirc.

      Congratulations.
I should have been more clear; the OE VW ones aren't so hard to find, but any of the other sizes/fitments are.

the OE vw ones don't have the "Pininfarina" script or the "By BBS" text on the spokes.
      and 15 x 6.5 was their size.
pic of the two piece ones.

Uh, NO. They were 15x7. Ask any of us who've HAD THEM.
Also, those are 2-piece "look", not real.

If you're measuring from lip to lip, the actual "width" is narrower than that.

The BBS Bugatti was even made in a center bolt application, as seen on the Bugatti EB110. A friend of mine had these on his wide 1994 MTM RS6 (Audi S4)

Well the stamping on the inside of the wheel says 61/2x15
      so i don't know where he's getting 15x7 from.

      You guys are hilarious.
I still have the BBS brochure from the late '90s when those were available. The "gunmetal" (which was "blued") was cool, but the "carbon-look" looked terrible. They are listed in the catalog as "2-piece look". Check those fastening screws around the lip...Nothing more than blanks.
I owned a '97 GTI VR6 and had 3 sets of tires for them, all 205/50-15, all for a 15x7 application.
Now, BBS did offer some cooler versions of those wheels for exotic applications, like the center-drive ones listed above, but the 2-piece look ones pictured above aren't them.

Dude stop U know BBS would never make Pininfarina wheels for a Volkswagen. They used those on those ultra rare Ferraris.
Just like the Bugattis they never came on vw only on the uberrare EB110
