Can't wait to get my first pair of raw/selvedage quality denim. Learned a lot over the years reading threads. Waiting til I get down to a better size, close to being down 100lbs, until I buy a pair. Almost down 4 sizes.

Anyways, in the mean time I needed a new pair of jeans and my mom picked me up a pair of Paper Denim jeans from Marshall's (not a fan of shopping there personally). They're a darker finish which isn't too bad but the stitching on the inner leg and pockets is white and I'm not a fan of the look.

In summary, anyone dyed stitching before? I know it's probably not worth it on 17$ pair of jeans but I figured why not for now. I know I can get fabric dye at a craft store or grocery store but didn't know if there is a better way.

    Thanks.

My Naked & Famous Weird Guy in natural indigos after 1 year of wearing to work. They have seen engine oil and tons of other crap from working on cars. Oxy clean does wonders and love the end result

The front pocket fade is from my Chapstick. The back is from my lens cap and wallet. I guess the answer is yes I always keep something in my pockets

I just got my first pair of selvedge jeans. Reading through these posts I see a lot of talk about soaking and such. Can someone please enlighten me of the process? The point? I love denim and really want to know what I'm doing to keep them as nice as possible (as stated, first pair of selvedge).

Overall they fit me great! But they are a little loose on the back side like right below my ass! Can I fix this?

And any tips and suggestions as to what I should do before throwing them into rotation would be great!

    Here are some pictures...

Wear em and wear the sh!te out of em. The rule of thumb is go 6 months before a wash. I try to go as long as I can but sometimes I get them too dirty. The best advice ive got since I started wearing raw is dont treat them like expensive jeans. Ive never presoaked but all my raw jeans have been a little tight from the start to allow stretch. If they are big now they will only get bigger as you wear them.

Thanks for replying. I intend on wearing them every chance I get. As they are slightly loose in the back Im thinking of soaking them. But as this being my first raw pair if someone or you can shed some light on the matter I'd be greatly helpful!

    Thanks again.

Find out if they are sanforized. If they are they wont stretcth that much but if they arent they will stretch a 2-3 sizes up. Also depends on how you wear them. There is a ton of info here

Thanks for the link. The amount of info on there is a bit overwhelming! I still haven't found how to tell if the jeans are sanforized or not so I emailed Levi's. So hopefully they'll be able to tell me. Then ill take it from there.

Even if they are sanfordized, I can still soak them to shrink them down a bit so they fit more snug... right?

If I do soak them with some warm water, will the color bleed off into the tub?

    Thanks!

You will be ok with one soak and you wont bleed too much. They will shrink a bit

Looking to replace a pair of pbj 007's. Started working out and the jeans are now too tight in the thighs. I really like the way the 007's are dyed. Anyone owned a pair of the 009's? or better yet owned both and able to comment on the fit differences? The specs on Blue in Greens site show them to be a little more relaxed fit yet still have the same dye process as the 007's

Anyone want a pair of 007's with a solid week or 2 of wear? Barely any fade yet. 30" waist 35" inseam

They are the raw's, I will post pics in the FS section when I figure out what to replace with. Anyone know the dimensions of nudie's slim jims? It would be awesome if the 009's fit like them

    Edit...

    Found it

Links sucks but page 3 of denim http://www.blueowl.us/scripts/psp/bi...l?page=welcome

That site list the slim jims as smaller than the 007's. My nudies stretched a ton, maybe I need to just give the pbj's some more time. Damn things look painted on my thighs right now.

so I know it's not raw denim but I got my first pair of Selvage denim from gap two months ago and they have been getting a good amount of time so far. I can already see the fading taking it and it's pretty cool.

They are the one rinse wash which is too bad but I think I might go out and grab my real first pair of raw denim sometime this month. Probably APCs or Nudies.

Here's some pictures of my Samurai 710xx's @ 1.5 years. These just hit the 2 yr. mark and I need to take some updated photos.

These are still going strong but I just got a pair of s5000bk's to add to the rotation.
    Peace.

Anyone want a pair of APC New Standards in a 31 for like $80? Worn for like 30 minutes.

Sick-looking 710's. I've had 710's for about 3 years now and have worn them twice.

Thanks everyone. Samurais are awesome and I'm pretty happy with the results. As I said they are stillgoing strong so I'll be wearing them until they are thrashed.

Dreizehn- Why don't you wear yours?

  33. 03-10-2012 12:09 PM #5250
I've worn them on a couple of occasions. I have a lot of other pairs of denim that I wear. My 501s are my dailies (black & blue) and I have other pairs I rock on occasion. I'll rock them when my other jeans get very worn.
