    Thread: F.S. F-PRODUCTION 1983 GTI in MA

    1. 02-24-2008 01:40 AM #101
      Chris,
You guys doing a 1.8, 1.6, or 1.5 for FP??? I think a 1.6 w/ the big valves @ 1750 lbs could be competitive in FP.

not according to the very fat rule book...1.8 w/ stock diameter valves is the law.

      Hey Mark,
As of 2008, the SCCA just moved the GP VWs up to FP, with both the 1.5 and 1.6 engines getting the big valve heads. The 1.5 has to weigh 1600 lbs and the 1.6 has to weigh 1750 lbs. 34mm chokes on the 1.6 engine w/ sidedrafts (that's what I run). I'm pretty sure that Chuck M. will stick with FI on his car.

A1 A2 W*I*D*E FENDER FLARES for Race, Street or Show are extremely light, high quality, strong fiberglass fender flares. While they are designed to fit A1 rabbits, they can be modified to fit most any vw 2 or 4 door.(4 door requires some custom work) The flares extend 4" from the side of the stock fender (2 1/2" past the stock fender lip) and will accommodate up to an 8 1/2" wide wheel. $795/set of 4 (or $210 each if you need just need 1 for collision repair) Theses are the exact flares that i use on my #54fp race car pictured:
      i have 1 used set/4 available for $400.
1 to 2 weeks lead time and a 50% deposit are required when ordering.
      thanks! mark54ep

He said I had a nifty little car. Oh, he did get me on not having a windshield washer reservoir..... luckly It only took me a minute to install it for a sticker. I brought it to a shop in Shelburne and the guy walked out of his office and said "No Way" just by looking at it

no races this june due to limerock closing for paving and forgetting that the scca made the track what it is/was today...i bet the first time the track is used, the pavement is ripped up because they don't let it cure long enough! serve them right! remember, you heard it here first... m54ep
