22lbs, is that so they can charge an exorbitant shipping price?

I know the trim piece fits both. I was assuming he either had an all plastic grill or he didn't have one at all for a jetta. I am a fan of the vento grill. That's why I also have one lol

Overheard on 27 June 07, one lady to another when they saw my Harli in a parking lot at West Point, "maybe he found it on the clearance aisle at the Volkswagen dealer"

Love those wheels!
I'm not scared of the rust and I have another mk3 to use the floor pans from.

I had a horrible dream last night that I got pulled over in the harlequin and the cop rear ended me and pushed me into another car completely destroying the front end...![]()
#3098
Funny cuz I was rear ended on Friday night and it pushed me into the car in front of me completely destroying the front end and rear bumper. It's all fixable but all my bumpers and stuff were only like a year old.

New grille in this morning. I've never sprayed automotive grade hardened paint before. I used an airbrush which really doesn't put out enough volume. I had to put on 5 coats to and I still fear that the paint is a little on the thin side. It has just ever so slight an orange peel to it which in reality is really no worse than the factory paint. An hvlp gun would've been much better though.

This weekends project was.. fix the drivers side seat....
Ahh the good 'ol sagging seat bolster....
new part number from the dealer has been superseded with a "K" at the end. And it is slightly different from the old one.
You can see the new foam does not have the groove for the rear seat seam to attach to. That also means that the wire for attachment runs an inch wider at that point. I wish I had taken a pictures of this part but what I ended up doing was cutting the groove using measurements off of the old cushion. Then I cut a small access hole to get the wire in the side bolster, and because the wire was wider side to side than the old one, I used steel hog rings to make 1/2" loops to give the seat rod an attachement point.
All fixed.. dirty but all fixed. I cleaned it up with a shop vac and my bissell green machine before reinstalling.
The only flaw in the fabric to be found. It's about half the size of a BB, but I'll be getting this patched up by the upholstry shop in the near future.

oh that's awesome. i never even thought to see if new foam was avail at the dealership. In my car a while back, the outside bolster of the driver side was jacked, pass seat bolsters were fine - i swapped the foam from pass to driver, and then super glued/duck taped the busted bolster together and threw it back on the pass side.
How much did the new one cost you, btw? I just texted a friend at the dealership and he said it lists at $192 and he could sell it to me at $150

If that were an option I would have considered it. There aren't any junkyards around here. Closest one is 40 miles away then next one is 85+ miles away in Indy. And last time I went to the one 40 miles away he wanted $95 for a used mk2 fender and a bought a new one from the dealership for $75...![]()
