My limited knowledge of how to "title scrub" would be to sell it to someone in a no-title state (around here, that's RI, if it's over 10 years old), a bill of sale will get you a new one. THough the paper trail is there and could screw you at any time.

Looks like a major front passenger hit though, not worth it for an old 4 door Golf, as sad as it is

Wish it was closer I would save it in a heart beat and just drive it with my shop repair plates till I get caught

If I were closer I'd pick it up and let it sit on my dad's farm until I found resources to make it work again.. It's not that hard to get a vehicle re-titled in VA (when title is missing) not sure about a scraped one though..

That's why you bring it down to ohio and get a salvage title.

Last 6 of the VIN on that one in the scrap yard is 113445. I called and he will sell the car as as whole, has motor in it, 5 speed, tranny was sold, ignition was sold, all the seats are in it, driver seat is junk. 103k miles on it. Rear struts sold obviously. And the car does not have a scrap title. He can sell it.

Yeah. Would love to save it but I bet it wouldn't be worth the time and money to actually get it. Which sucks.

You just have to offer him. Which I would have to see it in person before I offered a price.

Not worth more than $400. You're going to spend at least a grand in re straightening the frame rail. Then figure in the cost of repairing the rest of the car. Just to get it back on the road in crappy condition I'd bet you'd have 3 to 4k into it.

The car is in great condition mechanically and aesthetically, a lot of effort was put into keeping the paint in pristine condition with regular washing and waxing. Feel free to contact me with any specific questions you may have, (serious buyers only).

Looks like he dropped the price to $9000

Just curious, and you don't have to answer, but what did you pay for it, $2000 at the most?

You know, it pretty much doesn't make any difference what he paid for it ! If he bought it new, the sticker price was 15,500.
Supposed to be 77käfer, but there are no umlauts on an american keyboard

Overheard on 27 June 07, one lady to another when they saw my Harli in a parking lot at West Point, "maybe he found it on the clearance aisle at the Volkswagen dealer"

They are not supposed to have.. but there are a couple on RossVW that have them. But the could be dealer installed or aftermarket.

I should have sold it when it was running. I had an offer of $3500 cash and turned it down.

It would have to be an offer that would be stupid to turn down lol
