Is there a market for iPhone 4's with cracked screens?

So, I have a dilemma. A good friend of mine has a psycho ex-husband that (after groveling on his knees in tears, begging her to take him back) has taken to now harassing her via texts. She wants to block them, but it looks like there aren't that many options available. I can set up a $5-per-month account with AT&T to block the number for calls as well as texts, but it does nothing for picture messages (don't even get me started on that lil bit). Or, I can j/b her phone (she's not a fan, but not strictly against), buy an app & block them that way. Does anyone know of any other options out there? Not that the money's an issue, it's just annoying to have to pay for something like this, given the circumstances?
The pertinants are; iP4s on AT&T. If I had my choice, I'd have her pursue this thru HR @ their common employer (different locations though), but she's not that vindictive. Any thoughts or ideas out there?

You can get iBlacklist cracked. Google it and you can find the repo. I've tested it. It works. Blocks SMS, MMS, iMessage, and even calls if you want. You can have it auto-respond with something or nothing at all. Your phone won't get anything, but if you go into the app you can look at what was sent.![]()

I tried that this morning & they only suggested the additional service (go figure). At one point, we had looked into getting his number blocked for the same reason & the rep that hel;ped us said we might be able to get a single number blocked due to the situation. Guess we need to go in & try again in person.

Unfortunately that won't work for iMessage. AT&T can't block that. Just text messages.

I'm not sure, but I don't think he's the iPhone 'type'. The restraining order isn't a bad idea, but I'm also looking into the iBlacklist thing too. Unfortunately, she deleted all the texts & the stupendous pictures he's sent in the last few days. Not sure if those are recoverable. He just won't move on.

I'm tellin ya...iBlacklist and be done. So easy. There's a license key that gets installed with the app, you run the license key, respring and it deletes the key app and when you open iBlacklist you're golden. Add the number and select everything you want blocked.![]()

Was thinking about getting one of the 'square' credit card readers but I noticed something in their rules & regs pertaining to j/b-ing being strictly verboten. Anyone used on on a 'broken phone? Any issues?

Help me out here, fellas.
Wehn I send a group text message, it comes up as coming from *mynumber*@mms.att.net and sends to *myfriendsnumbers*@mms.att.net
Also, My phone will randomly kick over to the black screen with the swirly sign like when it is shutting down, but then the home screen pops up.
My battery life has been supremely crappy as well. I've gone from 19% to 15% in five minutes while just sitting here.
It's all about squats and deads.

Nope
I used to post a lot. Then vBulletin made it impossible to follow updates to subscribed threads. Now I don't.

I know the shadow shows "5", but I still can't wrap my head around them naming it the iPhone 5. It's the 6th iteration of the iPhone, in the same way the iPhone 4 was the 4th iteration. It's not the 5th bodystyle (iPhone, 3G/3GS, 4/4S, makes this the 4th design). The only reason to call this iPhone 5 is because it's the bodystyle after the 4... but that's not why the 4 was the 4.
#15944
no, 5 seems about right. They went about using the "3G" name because of the 3G capabilities, which kind of threw off the iterative naming convention. The next evolutionary step was the iphone4 and the 4S didn't differentiate itself enough to be called the 5. This next phone should be different enough that they need to market it appart from the 4. Not sure why this is such a big deal to you.
Besides, with the way that the galaxy phones are being trotted out 1, 2, 3 and so forth, its a smart marketing move to keep bumping up the number, even if it historically doesn't make sense for apple's iphone
#15945
The 3G didn't throw anything off. The 3G was the 2nd iphone, the 3G(S) was the 3rd. and the 4(S) was the 5th.

It's not a big deal. It's just been the primary speculative name, and it confuses me. I understand bumping a number up. It could just be bumped up to "6" in the same way the "4" was a 4.
It doesn't affect me either way, just a "why do they?" observation.
Those posts were all yesterday.

The only impressive feature shown during today's event, IMO, is next week's shipping date. Apple nails that every time.

Same. I wasn't too impressed with the design and feel the same way I did about the 3GS - wasn't much of an upgrade. But we're switching carriers soon so I might as well just get it. LTE will be nice though.

Man, that design, although very similar to the existing, is gorgeous.

no new camera? The 4S has one of the best camera's on the market, I was hoping to see an even better one, but I am a photo nerd.

It's kind of like the 911... Why reinvent the wheel if the wheel is already perfect?
As infuriating as it is to tech geeks in Mom's basement, the incremental upgrades are actually kind of nice for people who stick to contracts. 4 --> 5 is a great upgrade, just as it was for the 3GS --> 4S people. As a 4S owner, I'm eager to see how much of an improvement the 5S (5GS? 5X?) is over my current device when my upgrade date arrives.

Adapter cables are $39. FU Apple. I'll hold onto my 4(s), new Ipad, Nano x2, Iphone 4, and Ipod Classic forever it looks like.
I have the following that would need adapters:
Aluminum dock on my desk.
Alarm clock in son's room.
Dock in garage.
Dock in entertainment center.
Dock in 2011 VW Jetta Sportwagen (MDI).
Dock in 2011 Tiguan SEL (MDI).
Fixed dock at work.
Thats going to be alot of $$$$ in adapters/cables/equipment.
EDIT: forgot about all the chargers I have as well that will need new cables.![]()
