Body Rust - VW Anti Corrosion Perforation Warranty

Who is the best person to contact regarding body rust on a 1998 Golf 1.6L (MKIV)? I am pretty sure Volkswagen offered a 9-year Anti Corrosion Perforation Warranty back then.

Dodgy repair? I thought it was longer than 9 years, too...

Yep dealer 1st.
No joy then VW. Find out how long the warranty was then go back to the dealer with the ammo.

I thought it was 12 years due to the galvanised shell - darn. Inchcape ?lol yeah dealer would be my guess too

Mk3 had 6 years perferation warranty
Mk4 have 12 years due to the extra galvanisation treatment over the Mk3 (Still not 100% galv for the car like Audi etc)

Now from memory the Waranty is only for non damage/repaired panels unless you have it repaired by an authorised VW repairer - cheap repair will probably void the VW perforation warranty and then you you have to take it up with the repairer themselves.

If I wait 11.5 yrs I'm sure it will rust through - BS - Over

It seems there is 1 door panel that the Paint is popping off in spots about 1/2 the size of a Dime
The Paint is Raised and very small bubbles are forming about 6-7 of these on 1 Door - ONLY !

No Other spot on the Car , No Where - just 1 Door , seems really Freaking Odd !

VW said at first - that they might pay for a respray - Now their saying they want to Inspect the Inside of the Door , If there isn't any Rust - Not Covered .

The Deal is their Door most likely was Containment at the Factory or the Primer had something
Dust Particles Blown up on it which didn't play well with the Paint .

So No Rubbing of any foreign Objects , No Chemical Sprayed on Car , No Accident , No Repairs to that Door .

( How can VW say this is an Outside Influences ) Then ?

If it was some Mysterious Solar Ray from Space ( Outside Influences ) LOL
It Parked in a Private Drive , It also is Parked in a Cover Parking Garage from the
Sun and Rain - it has been waxed and washed - that's It !

I've lost a patch of clear coat on the roof of our '00 mkIV about the size of new two pound coin, no one Australian dollar. I suspect the dealer would point out some electron microscope etched fine print referring to only douching my VAG in the finest anal backwash of their driest service manager of choice.

Nope - No Where expect 1 Door Only - as If - that Door a lone was Contaminated .


Now How could I Contaminate 1 Door Only - I CAN"T !

VW - Needs to step Up - I didn't Paint the Car , and I didn't Produce the Parts Going On the Car.

These all have to do with Production !
Thing Is this could take 3 yrs. to Show it's Ugly Head . It also took 6 months or Longer
for Me to Actually See these - ZITS - in the Paint !

1 Door has - ZITS - Low & High and in the Middle - Door with ZITS - VW !
