I'm taking a semester off, so I'm moving all of my stuff out to Texas, where my husband is stationed in the Air Force.
I'll be back in January for Spring semester.

i dont think you would be able to pull a windshield off a car at the junkyard. I watched the guy replace mine in the driveway and it takes some skill and special tools.![]()

oh im not recommending either but i was just keeping a look out. Elvir said hes seen it done, i dont think hes talking about doing it.....wait.....are you?

It can be done, but its really not worth it. I don't know what special tools you would need, IIRC you cut the old windshield out with piano wire or a guitar string. My uncle replaced the windshield in his 626, and it was a fiasco. He had to pull about 3 windshields at the junkyard before he could get one out without breaking it. You also have to be VERY careful when transporting/handling the windshield once its out of the car.Edit: Talk to your insurance company and see what they can do for you. If you have full coverage they might cover the cast of having it fixed without raising your premium. If you just have liability the might still be able to get you a discount.
If its a small crack you might be able to fill it with epoxy, sand it down, and then buff it out. I did this to a work truck I used to drive and it turned out awesome

VW's are proof of miracles. Most of the cars on the Vortex leave a double rainbow behind in the parking spot.

Yea. Just call Binswanger. They'll come out to the car and fix it same day. They've replaced a front and back windscreen for me on 2 dif cars with oem glass.

Damn, wont be able to make this one. Spending all day today washing/waxing/taping my car for the 7 hour drive to good 'ole Country Club Tech (AKA Stetson University) tomorrow. Getting up in the wee hours to make it to school in time to get nice and toasted for Snakes on a Plane.

just needs a battery...
EDIT: I'll be there, more than likely in the red sled since the Passatouareg still hates me and to prove it, she's burned out the AC fan speed switch, the front window has gone off track, and the front speakers have blown...IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS...and I've driven it 4 times

Forgot his name, but he plays in the band CARTEL. Who are from Atlanta, and are very badass. Just got signed to a nationwide contract I believe too.
