Tried to "break-in" the back seat. Not quiet big enough for me and my lady friend.

    Hmm.
Did you try putting the back seats down and then taking out the trunk cover thing and using some blankets?

    Edit:
    Page 2 ownage!

Garey, Why couldn't VF make the bushings in the mounts in black poly, instead of red poly?

Because black and red is a killer combo... sorry it's not your thing. I think they look great!

I didn't do anything. But someone else nearly ran my .:R off the road today, and then tailgated me as if I did something wrong. (they had Wisconsin plates though, so maybe that explains it)

I installed the Convenience Blinker Kit or "Komfort Blinker" that I picked up while I was in Germany over the past three weeks. I will get to try it out tomorrow on my way to work tomorrow, but in the drive way it works just fine. Here is a pic borrowed from the front page from 1stvwparts write-up.

How long did it take to do this install?

i didn't personally do it...but i had the dealer replace my battery under warranty, replace the rear diff fluid, transmission fluid, engine oil, and perform the haldex service. drives smoother now.

Took less than an hour to install the blinker setup. The hardest part was getting the wires to come out (the tool wasn't as strong as the tabs on the terminals), but I managed it with a set of pliers.

I started to weld up the prototype end for my rear track arms. I had to stop, as my batteries in my speedglas is dead (not going to burn my eyes). I have 4130 Chrome-moly tube and hardware coming in to build the final units out of.

Hmmm let me see - put the finishing touches on this lot....

    1. Re-Painted the STaSIS with G2 & some clear
    2. Scrubbed down the wheel hub(s) and painted in flat black rust paint
    3. Swapped out STaSIS 14" rotors for 13" Rotors
    4. Put back on the road wheels (Forgelines)
    5. Finished up the XM wiring
    6. Put back the remaining EURO Gray interior panels
    7. Finished swapping the EURO Gray seat covers to the US frames (Hog pliers, rings etc)

Today / tomorrow will be completing the "Puting all back together" then clean, then some PICS!

that is freakin awesome.....my last girlfriend left such horrible snail tracks in the back seat of my GTI and my new girlfriend had such a problem with it, that i had to get trade it in for a whole new car!

all i did with the .:R today is drive her to work, but yesterday i spent the day issuing lots of premautre wear on the brakes and tires at seattle international raceway

    ahhhhhh......i freakin love my car!

We took a 165 mile drive on Sunday; the thing is the distance from Dorset, VT to Williamstown, MA is only 45 miles. The twisties showed up and she would not head for the barn. She just kept asking for more tarmac to eat up.

  26. 07-09-2007 11:19 PM #61
Drove it 30+ miles (thats alot for me for one day) and bought her a Pioneer D3 with bluetooth, ipod and xm hookups.
Yes I own and love VW's. No, I do not think they are the best cars, nor the fastest cars. I do not like airbags, stance, expensive ugly rims, dubstep, drifting, hipsters, penis crushing jeans, neon rims, corvette rims, massive amounts of stickers, shocker stickers, or grenade stickers. I do not hard park, I just park.

I got the R a new home. 1400 sq ft loft!
its in a historic part of town and 1/2 a block from my favortie bar in town. Also a few buildings away is the mayor, and hes a cool guy. Im super excited to do some renovations the the place and start moving in. I just picked up the keys today!

More pics here: http://images2.rdefined.com/v/Memphis-R32/Loft/ (thank you for the hosting Rdefined, I love you)

The green and blue building are both mine.

The R snuggled in its new heated garage with drain. Hello winter car washing with plenty of room to work on it

Oh yea and a freight elevator that goes to the living room.

Put my road bike on the roof, drove to Frisco, CO. Stopped. Took bike off roof, rode bike over Vail Pass to Vail and back to Frisco. Bike back on roof, drove home. Now, have to wash the car again.
