Drove to and from Cleveland foe the great lakes gtg and rolled 104k in the process. Love this car.

Any other R owners go? Saw a few R's. I had the BMP on rpf1's next to my ladys Yaris with pink RM's.

Pulled off my front bumper, all boost hosing on the left side of the car and reseated it all. Boost leak is gone! Bumpy idle is GONE! Wooohoooo. Now maybe's I can start having some fun!

And Wow, the milltek high flow cats really QUIET the car down compared to the test pipe. I'm almost stealthy again!

Pulled the bumper to swap out the condensor and chase an oil leak around the filter housing somewhere. Double checked all fittings and hardware but still can't find the leak. Put it all back together and took it to a shop to get the A/C system under vacuum and charged. They couldn't get the hood open. I don't know what they did but I checked to insure the hood release and latch were working properly before I closed the grill up.

I had to take the car home and delicately pull the grill off with the hood closed and break into the latch with a drill bit. I got it all working again after an hour of fiddling to get it open. I don't know what the heck they did to get it the way it was. I am still puzzled.

Anyway. A/C is back up and now I need to still find that leak.

Where did you get that from I wonder?

Also, HPA told me that they did not put that clutch in my car but the previous owner said HPA was the only ones that ever wrenched on his car. Either way, I loved that clutch and wish I still had it in there even though my SPEC Stage 3+ that HPA pushes now is doing the job just fine.

I ended up missing CFTC, but got the R's issues resolved. If all remains as is, I was thinking about hitting up chuckanut.

Swapped in the gray grill from my Golf just to see, and tried an idea I had for some mesh bumper grill inserts.

Started it for the first time in 3 weeks. I swapped the miltek for the stock exhaust and changed the neuspeed sways to stock sways and changed the blue Haldex for the stock. As you can tell, I'm going back to stock.......but after looking at how sad it looks in the garage, I'm having change of heart.

ordered a full set of OEM brake discs and EBC Redstuff pads tonight.
$$$ cha-ching $$$--it's lucky for me that i happened to work some overtime hours these last few weeks

edit--5/10 i got my brake pads already! thanks Fedex
when i opened the box,i got a scare.the front pads were tagged as being BMW/Mercedes AMG fitment not VW/Audi i quick punched up the part # on google and found all was well..whew!

not sure if this is news, but i thought i'd list the part #'s to make it easier for other noobs to order brake pads.i had a hell of a time tracking down the correct pads for my R32.a lot of websites don't list a R32 specifically in their parts catalogs--i even checked on EBC's own site and they had no listing for a '04 R32..yet,i knew they made pads for themwth??

    front EBC Redstuff pads--DP31035C . front *left* 334MM R32 brake rotor---1J0615301AA/front *right* rotor---1J0615302A
rear EBC Redstuff pads--DP3680C. rear vented R32 rotors---8N0615601B

Got the tie rods replaced. Outers were shot and completely seized on. Steering is much much better now!

Also replaced the rivnuts in my subframe for the oem skidplate. Mine were all stripped out.

Tinted side mirrors and bilsteins on the rear w/ euro springs. Now the car sits at even height, but I haven't put the front springs on yet Wish the rear euro springs were a 25mm drop instead of a 10. Anyone running front euro's with different rears?
