so i got a bike rack, threw some lamin-x on my depo's, blacked out my b-pillars.
and it turned out to be one of those "nothing fights"

today i finally got to some maintenance stuff and then some..
-tire rotation and plug a tire
-haldex fluid and filter
-air and pollen filters
-cupra front lip
next week ill tackle the rear differential and transmission fluids
Changed the oil ( after 6500 miles ) last week, and rotated a tire.
This weekend, I finally installed my "Grounding Kit" that had been laying around the house for 2 years! Easy install.
Also changed out my rear differential oil this morning after hearing some "reports" that VW may have used tranny oil in the rear diff as well. My rear diff fluid was clean ( 21,300 miles ), with no noticeable metal shavings or dirt. However, the viscosity seemed pretty thin to me, almost like that of ATF fluid.
Easy to change.
Just got the special drain plug socket tool from Metal-Nerd for $25.00 and put in some Mobil One 75/90 synthetic gear oil.
Busy day - work 5am -11 am
Then on to the .:R ..... up onto the lift -
oil & oem filter change
oem fuel filter
brake system flush - synth fluid -WOW whatta difference!
new 3 pc belly pan assembly
new dog bone mount poly bushings

Mine's finally back together: new trany case w/ new bearings, shimed up perfect (thanks Prestige Performance), along with a new clutch disc & throwout bearing, new VF dogbone, new front subframe, new dustshields, add a 4-wheel aling., I guess I should have bought that skidplate before I went skiing. It is nice to have it back on the road. Jimbo
Walked by it getting into the GTI this morning; the R hasn't moved since autocross on April 13th. I need to put the driver front Flik back on now that I got the 615 plugged. Car looks odd with one polished Monte and three gray FTDs.
- removed stock CAT
- installed Milltek high-flow CAT
- removed Milltek exhaust
- installed new clamps
- polished up rear section of milltek (cleaned off the oxidation)
- cleaned up the tips
- put it all back together
- cleaned the wheels (since the car was on jack stands)
