Off home to have a small reminisce over 2 premierships in 3 years I spose while driving back down Geelong Rd.
If they are minor premiers, and in the finals - or in the grand final? Id say they will be pretty unstoppable if they actually get to the grand final, yes.

Shame you don't support Essendon then!
Here are some more statistics...
Carlton Premierships;
1915 Premiership Team: Defeated Collingwood Football Club
1938 Premiership Team: Defeated Collingwood Football Club
1970 Premiership Team: The Great Comeback - Defeated Collingwood Football Club
1979 Premiership Team: Defeated Collingwood Football Club
1981 Premiership Team Defeated Collingwood Football Club
VS.
Collingwood Premierships;
1910 Premiership Team: Defeated Carlton Football Club
If only Collingwood could have kicked straighter, they may have even more premierships?![]()

Same number of Premierships, yes, but I didn't say that. Only one team has won 16 Grand Finals.
On that front, Essendon is no better than lowly Collingwood.
It amazes me the number of Essendon followers that think/assume they have actually won 16 Grand Finals. Two were "gifted" due to them finishing on top and there being no final series in those years. You might remember 1999; yeah, the team that finishes the regular season doesn't always win the flag.
As a Carlton supporter I know I'm in no position to be hanging schitt on any other clubs for salary cap rorts, however, as far as I recall Essendon is the only club to be fined for cheating the cap in the same year they won a flag. That was 1993 to save you looking it up.
So, you've won 16 flags, but only 14 Grand Finals, and in one of those you were proven to be cheating the system. Really, then, Collingwood are in front there too.

Yeah, like I said, I'm in no position to call anyone on salary cap cheating and while Carlton was most likely fiddling the books for most of the 90s too, we didn't get busted/penalised for that. At least not officially anyway. I suspect a fair whack of our eventual penalty in 2002, which was signed off by former Essendon man Ron Evans I might add, had a fair degree of history behind it.
Anyway, it's all fun and games until Collingwood wins a flag.![]()

The game is following the Carlton v Richmond pattern. Its just the skills are a bit better.![]()

After witnessing the Pies first hand last night and the dominance of the Cats tonight there are only two obvious contenders.
Both teams were a pleasure to watch if you were a pure footy fan, a bit depressing if you were the opposition
If they do happen to be the final two I think it will be the match of the century (so far that is)

Whats your thoughts on Ben Cousins?? It is pretty quiet around here, I thought there would be a few here with an opinion?
I think its ballsy to go on public record and air most of your dirty laundry by choice. I guess it puts another side to the story... but probably too little too late. He's only 30... obviously footy has taken its toll. It will be interesting to see where he ends up post footy.
I think that Collingwood or Saint Kilda might have won a Premiership in the past seasons if they signed him...

I like how he dumped on Collingwood after they shafted him.
That was the best part. Well, after...
"Nina and Suzi were great times, until I woke up in the back of an ambulance."
To be honest, I thought it showed him to be a bit self-absorbed. Part 2 was a bit better in terms of having him show some remorse or regret. But you just get the feeling there will be plenty of material in the future to create Part 3.
In fairness, it also shows that professional sport is very much a cut-throat business. His line at the start of Part 1 summed it pretty well, "they expect you to act like a priest all week then fight like the devil on the weekend."
