I was not going to post these pics on the 'tex till the car was done..but its taking me an eternity to finish so here goes...I got the car in 2003 for 50 bucks. It was a maroon shell with no drivetrai, dash or any interior.Just a roller. Then over time and money i slowly put it together with many fresh things.I finally got it running proper and roadworthy in early spring '06. I had various friends help me alot throughout and it made a huge difference. Some of them are Lee and AAron they both helped me out tremendously in differing areas of t.Some of you may have seen it at New England shows and H20 looking like this...

It was a great feeling to have it running(very well at that) but even with all the usual Jh mods it was inneficient and the bay was rather bland.I decided I needed to upgarde the drivetrain....

Have you got any straight-on shots of the beard?

Looks like you've been quite busy, can't wait to see the car at H20 this year. (presuming you are bringing it)

I was up in the air about the rain tray...i opted to keep it considering im in New England. Those cool summer mornings and nights..or even when it rains having defrost makes a world of difference. Therefore i stripped the inside of that out as well...no fun!..

Also under the chassis legs..as i said all stripped..it took a bit..

also started blasting parts to be powdercoated...

I decided to go with the Por-15...in fact as you will see aI went a bit crazy with it..they have many products that all seem to work quite wel. They are a bit finicky but as long as you follow directions they come out great. Here is what a saturday got me...2 coats on everything...

Getting that on made it all worth stripping that undercoating and wax worth it

next step was to weld up all the holes..i counted over 70 holes that i filled Lots of welding grinding..then repeat etc etc....

also my drivers strut tower was cracking..so that took alotttt of work to copy the factory lines..

the idea was more metal less filler..so it was alot for me.then i moved onto fiberglass and did many thin layers..lots of everyones favorite sanding!

also made a plate for my rad support..didnt like all the extra holes in it...

next was a nice expensive rattle-can coat of primer to see how good/bad i did....not to bad for my first bay jobby

this lead to ..you guessed it more lightweight filler..

I also redid the underside of the hood in this process...

now it was finally time to reap some benefits of all that sanding and grinding...

It was awesome to see the results..the blue pearl really came out spectacular and i couldnt be more pleased
Only downside is that is doesnt match the pearl EXACT on the outside..but in due time the exterior will get a second respray
