Thread: Driver side power window only works some of the time?

    1. 06-20-2007 10:24 AM #1
Having a little trouble with my power window. It was working fine for the past few weeks I've had the car, but since last week it only works 25% of the time.

When i press the switch (and it doesnt work) i can hear something clicking behind me under the driver side rear window. Is that where the window control module is? I know the switch is good, i was testing it and its new.

passanger side works fine, only driver side does this. I press the switch, and I'll only hear that clicking sound behind me. Then out of nowhere, sometimes it will work fine.

Using search narrowed it down a little bit, but whats weird is that its only the driver side. Power locks work fine. According to some peoples finds, its usually wiring or something in the wcm that fries. But if something would fry, then that would mean the window could never go up/down. Which it does occasionally.

      Any takers?

Check the wires going from the car to the door...behind/under the rubber thing..

I know for sure its not the switch. Its new and i tested it, even swapped the switches to find out. Still same result.

BZY517: Where exactly are you referring to?

The window relays are located behind the rear driver's side panel, might not be plugged in all the way? Or going bad? I guess you could swap relays to see if it is in fact the relay. Sounds like the switch is working...

The switch goes to the relay and out of that THEN goes to the window motor.

I dont hear anything coming from the regulator/motor. Could it be that? Or does that mean its not recieving any signal from the wcm?

I'd check the wiring in the rubber grommet where the door is hinged onto the a-pillar..
