Thread: new mk1 1.8t project

1. 03-29-2008 12:05 AM #101
tomorrow will get you the part number for mine.... rear brake cables that is
on the cable himself is: Gemo Germany 434 940 196
these worked fine in my rabbit. i removed when i went back to the drum brakes.... i would suggest install cables in the tunnel, and then hook up to the calipers, and LAST attach cables to rear beam.

things begin to take shape!!!!
we put in the dash and the seats/belts rear quartepanels
AND i got my steering wheel in, finally

dont mind the red vent shafts they gonna be exchanged for black, white or blue ones, i didnt decide allready. tell me what you would do. we need to make adapter plates to fit the knee bar... i thought about a nice alloy plate, we will see.
my friend (also called otti) sacrificed himself for the first check of the driving position the gear lever sits in the best possible position to the wheel he said

seems like i have to loose a lot of weight to fit in my seats again
i am a happy guy because tonight we gonna party

i know it is not everybodys cup of tea, but i promise the next project is going to be a complete restauration of a stock gti, since i have nearly a whole car in spare parts

i knew i was wrong... the only other thing i could think of with the way you described it was a removable steering wheel

a little hint: its not in the inside...
go more outside and backwards...

11. 03-29-2008 05:40 PM #111

nope!!
u see my gas cap on one of the last pics allready installed...

13. 03-29-2008 05:47 PM #113
only other thing i can think of would be a muffler tip ring when you poke it thru a bumper or something like that. you said its not inside, so it isnt for the holes in the floor, for the gas tank access.... there isnt anything else round like that, unless it goes on the wheels themselves? EDIT: i just looked at the rimz again, no way for them. oh well...
oh well, no star for me

100% right!
when i mount the rear bumper you will see the meaning of the flanges: i donr want an ugly loook of my muffler, lthe ring is gonna be
the perfect penetreation though the rear bumper.
a little star to speeding
wait for the rear bumper......
be patient

15. 03-29-2008 10:34 PM #115
hahaha i won it after all....
it is the only thing it could be.... after the two hints outside and back more
you get the PN for the brake cables sorted out?
EDIT i found a better pic of mine....

this is the way the calipers come factory.... there s a difference for some MK2 calipers....
MK3 are "upside-down" from this, IIRC.
:
here is a stolen pic of a factory 16v rocco beam. i think we can all agree that it looks unaltered???

oh yeah.... think of that monster living out in your garage.... just waiting . more like the wet dream, no nightmare LOL

we got some work done and begun to hide the cable three inside the fender/beam and my bro spend all aftenoon on fishing for it
he was swearing like crazy but in the end he got it

since we had to cut the cable three there was solderning involved

the finished product

we still figuring out the mess in the engine bay

i testfitted the front bumper and found a problem with the indicator fitting

my starter panel fits right into the knee bar like i wanted it

much more work to come.....

sorry guys i can´t offer pics of my fleet since the project car is my only
car! last night we where working lete to mount the clutch and throttle pedal, funny fabwork

its a clutch master cilynmder from a mkIII
funny position for it but it works perfectly

i build a mounting bracet for the new battery (need some rear end weight

and of course the electronic throttle from a audi tt

my friend basti thought the rear bumper would not fit good enough
so he put some fibergass on it

my bro didnt approve the front bumper beam and all the brackets on it so he took it appart and painted it nicely

and i kept myself buisy with the plumbing for the watercolling, done!

i just love the look of the sweet blue silicone "§%&%
i mounted the wipermotor as well but since i forgot to bring it to the painters it is ugly as h33l, in order to nut hurt your eyes with tat i didnt take a pic
