So, the hours I spent researching the OBD2 conversion and the three weekends I spent doing the work all ended up in a bust. I double, triple and quadruple-checked each and every connection point of the harness and based on the write-ups online, I did it correctly. But when it finally came down to starting it up for the first time, it wouldn't start up. I'm able to communicate with the ECU via VAD. It even came up with 2 faults, both regarding O2 sensor 2, which I cleared and never came back. So unless I did in fact connect something wrong or forgot to connect something, I'm at a loss.

I was really hoping to get the Corrado on the road this weekend, as we are in desperate need of a 2nd car. I guess it's time to abandon the Corrado and start working on the Cabby.

Absolutely!! This is my first year and oh my word.... The ish that has been going down all weekend is definitely memorable and such a great time!! It has been the best trip I have had in a very long time!!

But our duty isn't over just yet! Some poor guy who was at WaWa when we were took his wedding band off to wash his hands and forgot it there. Did anyone hit the Men's room at WaWa? If so did you see a ring that looks like this sitting on the soap tray? If so let me know. I'd really like to help out the owner as this ring holds a SUPER high sentimental value to him and his family. It would be fantastic of CHP11 could be the ones that help this individual recover his property!

I can't make it, i have to leave town tonight on an emergency trip to Marion, va. My grandma is being rushed into surgery, she has a severe blood clot in her leg and they are going to try and repair it but she might lose her leg if its too late. I will keep posted....

Well I had gotten 30 minutes out of town and my dad called and said not to come, that they are postponing the surgery till Monday. They have her stable and have blood flow to her leg.

Sorry to hear about your grandma. I'm sure they are using "clot busters" to break down that clot. Luckily they found it before a piece broke off, went distally to the lungs and cause a pulmonary embolism. Good luck on Monday!

Thanks I appreciate that! They are going to do a stem surgery and try to balance the blood flow between left and right. I talked to my dad just a bit ago and she made it through the night and is still doing Goodson keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes good the rest of the weekend and surgery. I unfortunately can't go Monday for surgery, I have no time off available at work so I can't leave. With our company buy out, I wanna stay off the radar as much as possible because I'm sure they will be cutting people for minor reasons so I don't want to be one of those....

Well the car searching / /purchasing is over for now. I still have the 83 Cabby in GREAT shape, but with the fuel issues and no heater i picked up a clean 2.0 MK4 Jetta.

Being the 2.slow and all, id like to make the engine how i want prior to doing the body work.

Research on the engine is hard, are there key works i am missing when it comes to trying to find an intake manifold, or SRI for the specific engine?

Most of my searches on 2.0L will bring up the older engine not the one i have currently. Even if i have to upgrade some internals that's fine. I just cant seem to find a good keyword list for breaking down my search options.

Anyone here a 2.0 guy?

Congrats on the new ride Travis. Unfortunately I think you picked the wrong platform to get power out of. Not a lot of stuff out there for the mkiv 2.slow. My first GTI was a 2.0 and I quickly found out there are not a lot of options out there for that motor. I think Neuspeed made a turbo kit for it but for the $ I don't think it's worth it. I could be wrong though... Enjoy the fuel economy.

From what I read I think the turbo kit only got the 2.0 to like 200-250 hp. So not a lot for the $ like previously stated.

That being said they do have the 2 part cast manifold so a SRI would be easy to make
