Nice, VW will definitely sell more cars in 2008. But not sure how much (if any) profit it will make in 08.

Our mkIV 20th was the european 25th, so our mkV 25th will be the european 30th.

    Nope.

It's not like the gas mileage on the T&C (which this should be comparable too, right?) is really "bad."

It's a CHRYSLER. Chrysler doesn't use a diesel in their own minivans.

yeah, the 337 was a 2002. The 20th AE was a 2003. I'd hope we get the 25th in 2008. Lord knows the Fahrenheit was a lousy successor to the 337.

It won't. VWoA has no plans for a TDI minivan right now.

Not in the US. But I saw Chrysler minivans in Europe that had "Turbo Diesel" badges on them. (Which does not mean that the VW version will have a diesel engine.)

What's the point of a Passat coupe? Big 2-door cars still don't have much room inside, and the big doors are just that much more hassle in tight parking spaces.

    Is that like Jesus Chrystler?

Anyway, from what I have heard the VW van uses the Chrysler's platform architecture and a few basic suspension components, however the engines, transmissions, and - most importantly to the dash strokers - it's own unique interior with mostly VW parts. Can any Vortex staff members comment?

I seem to remember that is was going to use a Chrysler drivetrain, which blows.

The only vehicle on that list which sounds remotely interesting.....is the Passat coupe.

VW is designing the sheet metal and interior... to fit into the Chrysler mold. It will look different, but mechanically will be identical to the Chrysler minivans.

And I've seen Civics in this country with BMW "M" badges on them.

    where'd this come from? lol

coupe means 2-door, though its original intention was more based on body style. it will most likely have identical mechanicals to the current passat.
