Thread: Ipod in armrest

    Well finally got around to buying a Ipod a couple of weeks ago. Decided to do the armrest install. Didnt come out to bad.
    I basically just carved the wood out of a old shelf we had lying around at work.


    Yes I know my interior is filthy, been meaning to clean it for a couple of years now.

    I dont have any pics during, but I took a drill bit that matched the circumfrance of the corners and marked the bit with tape the depth I wanted to go and drilled the six corners out then drilled four lines down through the middle. After it was all drilled out just took a chisel and knocked it out. The bottom part took a small bit and drilled across then same thing just knocked it out with a chisel, then took a flat file and filed the opening to the size I needed.

    Hi, i am trying to do exactly what you have done but cant get the armrest apart to route the ipod wires, please can you give me any pictures or info on how to dismantle the armrest ?
