    Test fit of the rims...

Not to bad, try and find some hoosiers in 225. they are wider than athe 235 kumhoes !

They must use a speecial ruler with largers spaces between the hash marks ...

I think the tires are wide enough for us. Plus different tires and mounting and balancing doesn't fit the budget

nice car... but whats rat about it? The term ratrod is getting thrown around way too much in this mk1 forum.

and for the record, even the swastika meant something positive before ww2.

again, nice build, cool car, and great wheel fitment =]

The term Rat-Rod is a term used for vehicles restored for daily driving, beating on, and for fun. A tru rat rod doesn't necessarily use stock OEM parts, but you use what ever you can find in order to make it work.

It is the exact opposite of a show car, it can run 100% but looks severely used.

"Rat Rod" is a style of Hot Rod or Custom car that imitates (or exaggerates) the early hot rods of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. It is not to be confused with the somewhat closely related "Traditional" Hot Rod, which is an accurate re-creation or period-correct restoration of a Hot Rod from the same era.

Most Rat Rods appear "unfinished" (whether they actually are or are not), with just the bare essentials to be driven. More recently however, a trend has arisen of making the vehicle appear "unsafe" or "scary", whether the vehicle actually is or not.

Wow... that is exactly what my car is (aside from the 40, 50s, etc part) Trust me... it will be beaten on. Thanks for the definitions man.

sigh... flat black doesn't make it a rat. flat black is more of a kustom or gasser thing. but a vw "gasser" project probably doesn't sound as cool as "rat-rod", does it?

most ratrods are pre-war era cars, whereas post war cars are more kustoms, ledsleds, and gassers.

i'm not trying to pick a fight with anyone, just trying to educate.

every time you call your car a rat, god kills a kitten.

A Rabbit is not to be wasted on the tentative or weak. Only the worthy are invited, and then only at your own risk. If you have even a modicum of hesitation, DO NOT buy one of these cars. Instead, leave it for a worthy soul who has already matriculated to the sublime ecstasy of what those in the know refer to as a "MK1"

Hot Rodders hate the term rat-rod because it's anti-show... and hot rodders nowadays are all about the shiny show car with glossy rotors. Rat-rodders now are more like the original hot-rodders. And... I can really call my car whatever I want... english evolves son... get used to it Thanks for the comments though.

Your wrong. Theres a ton of builders out there that build traditional hot rods, not like stupid ****ing boyd coddington. All the people who build real hot rods (not boyd rods) hate the term rat rod. Your a douche, go away.

Jesus guys who cares. why does everyone have to inject their definition of whatever X is? The guy is spending a lot of time making a car that more than likely would have ended a cube into something nifty.

Cut some metal last night for the foot bed and did some bead rolling Doesn't look like much but it was a beotch to cut.

Smoothed the back but I haven;t sanded it yet.

Thanks for coming by Stuart and friends (remind me of their names because I suck at names )
