You need to fix that wiring loom

How long did it take you to do the timing belt?
I did mine (A4 B5) for a day and a half, with a lot of breaks.
    It's an ATW motor though.

FS: AAA VR6 thermostat cover, B4 lower C-pillar plastic trim

VW DIYs and guides, color codes, DTC/P-codes

Really not that long, About 5hrs of continous work. I changed timing belt and h20 pump, and coolant, spark plugs and air filter and oil change. I changed all the accessory belts too. The hardest part was getting the timing belt on all the gears without throwing anything out of alignment. I could probibly do it un 3hrs or less now that I am familiar with the setup and the procedure to slide the lock carrier forward. I also found that I had a busted water pump impeller and luckily I got the upgraded pump with the metal impeller. Heres the pic

    haha how rude of me!
    Here are some recent pictures.

Today I finished the timing belt change on my 03 Passat 1.8Turd
Today also I put in a new fog light where my glass fell out and broke. Thanks Triple Seis!

My engine is really cluttered, gonna clean it up some. Its pretty much all custom fabricated with the exception of C2 MAF and chip and Kinetic manifold.

    Great Success!!!!

What kind of power are you putting down now? What turbo did you use? How much? So many questions, I must know!!!

    here are my specs:

    Garrett T3/T4 60. trim with .58a/r turbine
    Kinetic turbo manifold
TiAl 38mm wastegate, custom dump tube (LOUD)
    custom 2.5" intercooler piping
ebay Front Mount Intercooler 3" inlet and outlet
C2 36# OBDI software and Bosch 36# injectors
Devils own Alcohol/Methanol injection kit, with boost activated switch
    Audi TT diverter valve recirculated
2.5" Stainless Techtonics exhaust (for sale shortly, going 3" turbo back)
    manual boost controller
    vacuume block.
VDO gauges and Innovative wideband o2

Current setup is running 10lbs of boost on stock compression. I will turn it up to 12psi in the fall when temps drop a bit!

tore the front clip off so i can switch to g12 its been a long time coming and then i can also replace the leaky switches on top of the oil filter and then maybe i might do the rear brakes who knows i might even get to radio after that then she should be good for a while. good thing my dad is nice enough to lend me a car to get back and forth to work although i should have the bug fixed too so much work not enough light or time in the day

Wow, five hours? Have you done it before?
It took me a lot more than that, but I had no clue what I was doing
Got the kit from ECS - all belts, water pump, thermostat, and also did a coolant flush.

Where did the piece of the water pump impeller go?

Here's a photo of when I did mine:

first time on a 1.8t, i had done them on old 8valves. I had a bentley too. I am not sure on audi, but on the B5 Passats all you do is remove the bumper cover, and then there are 8 torx bolts holding the lock carrier. they come out easy with an cordless impact, then the whole carrier slides forward and your good to go.

Same thing here, the lock carrier slides out of the way. I used a DIY from AudiWorld - was a great help. It is MUCH easier when the motor is NOT transversely mounted.

I understand there is no need for fog lights, but where do you put the turn signals when you shave the front? I'd love to do it on my B4, but I don't know where to put my turn signals so that it doesn't look stupid

I like how its all shaved it is going to look very good. I only have one question how will you take the bumper off if you cant pop the fake light out to get to the mount bolts now that you have shaved it? did you cut a part out behind the bumper so you can get to them? I want to do the same this has just always been my concern

well...the 2 13mm bolts that hold the re-bar to the frame...are covered uo now yes but if you shimmy your hand around you can reach them from th underside...not to say it did not take me 30 minutes to get the bumper on or anything but it isn't that bad...

or you can take the slides that go into the frame rails out(kinda like a mk2)
but the front crossmember will drop and it will be more of a biotch to put back than the way i did it

I think I will stay unshaved because I am going to need a new radiator at some point (there is a leak in mine that has a temporary seal on it) and I don't feel like having more of a b*tch of a time then I normally would!
