put a bumper on it, used peanut oil on the textured moulding and it looks brand new.

Wow, five hours? Have you done it before?
It took me a lot more than that, but I had no clue what I was doing
Got the kit from ECS - all belts, water pump, thermostat, and also did a coolant flush.
Where did the piece of the water pump impeller go?
Here's a photo of when I did mine:

first time on a 1.8t, i had done them on old 8valves. I had a bentley too. I am not sure on audi, but on the B5 Passats all you do is remove the bumper cover, and then there are 8 torx bolts holding the lock carrier. they come out easy with an cordless impact, then the whole carrier slides forward and your good to go.

Same thing here, the lock carrier slides out of the way. I used a DIY from AudiWorld - was a great help. It is MUCH easier when the motor is NOT transversely mounted.

I understand there is no need for fog lights, but where do you put the turn signals when you shave the front? I'd love to do it on my B4, but I don't know where to put my turn signals so that it doesn't look stupid

I like how its all shaved it is going to look very good. I only have one question how will you take the bumper off if you cant pop the fake light out to get to the mount bolts now that you have shaved it? did you cut a part out behind the bumper so you can get to them? I want to do the same this has just always been my concern

well...the 2 13mm bolts that hold the re-bar to the frame...are covered uo now yes but if you shimmy your hand around you can reach them from th underside...not to say it did not take me 30 minutes to get the bumper on or anything but it isn't that bad...
or you can take the slides that go into the frame rails out(kinda like a mk2)
but the front crossmember will drop and it will be more of a biotch to put back than the way i did it

I think I will stay unshaved because I am going to need a new radiator at some point (there is a leak in mine that has a temporary seal on it) and I don't feel like having more of a b*tch of a time then I normally would!

i attempted to do my cold air intake....but the braces in the wheel well kept me from mission accomplishment.
i coulda cut them out, but i dont really want to start cutting pieces off my car....lol.
so i installed a new K&N cone filter and called it a day

I'd ruined my timing, when changed tensioner.

    25. 08-10-2007 09:31 PM #75
Replaced the A/C condenser that started leaking a month after I got the evaporator changed and the A/C working since I bought the car I'm going to charge it tomorrow and hopefully it will be good for a while.
