Does anyone know if NJ fails you right now for a crack in your windshield? I know that they used to, but I searched and read a news article that said they were getting rid of that like NY to help with over-crowded inspection stations.

Mine is about 2 inches in size on the passenger side so it does not effect my view at all and has not expanded in 3 years.

Also, has anyone ever gotten their windshield replaced through insurance with a smaller deductible? I heard some companies have a lower deductible for stuff like that which won't effect your premium.

usually it depends on the size/whether or not they see it. if they dont see it or it's generally small, they'll pass you. if not, id check out safelite in Hasbrouck Heights, I had my windshield replaced on my 99 Jetta for only 250 (part and labor). Plus they did it relatively quickly. Give them a call ahead of time
