Yep the Op said that and has contributed to the thread since with photos, giving implied consent. Whatever the case a picture of a glamorous woman in lingerie or swimwear is neither a necessary or sufficient condition to be a pinup. I don't really care what people's personal definitions are. I support anyone on here that wants to keep the thread within the spirit of 99% of the posts here, namely 1940's or 1950's style glamour. The point is when Farrah died this thread did not become swamped with her pictures, in the way that it did when Bettie Page died. FFS use some common sense. If you want a glamour photography thread that's cool, make one. I'll contribute to it. Just leave this one to us.

Actually I'll go further. People like bustov and audifans seem incapable of forming cogent communicable schemata in the same way as the rest of us. I appreciate that they are trying to contribute and many others have in the past with stuff that shouldn't be here. Those others have accepted it when apprached to take down the pictures. Usually they come back with something that is appropriate.

To audifans and bustov, in the nicest possible way - dudes, type 'pinup' into Google images. If a piece of f@cking software can get it right, why can't you.

I find it always amazing to see how some people will argue endlessly to drive their point no matter what.

These people do not realise they are, at best, annoying to everyone they come in contact to.

While I was looking for the Vargas pin ups one of the sites had these four mixed in with his work. I do not think it is Vargas, obvious from signature on prints but not sure who. However, I do recognize these as matching a set of coasters my Grandfather had in the basement bar. I would sneak done as a kid to look at them along with the old nudie deck of playing cards he kept there, shame on me. (some may be reposts from pages ago)

Those are pin ups, at least half of the pictures posted in this thread are not Pin up material. They are glamor shots anycase lets end the argument and not get the thread locked?

Just a question.....

Just looking at a few of the old and now current images of 'pin-up girls'.....why are current pin-ups loaded with tattoo's compared to the older ones that really don't have tattoo's?? Is this evolution or are these not 2 different ideas?

It's an evolution of the style. Most girls into pinup now appreciate tattoos as art, whereas back in the day it was something only for sailors and felons.
