I mean, when you ran the pink stuff and the VW mechanic puts in the blue-ish greenish stuff?

Not Prestone or Peak or whatever. I know that means death.

as long as the entire cooling system was flushed clean, nothing bad will happen, only when you mix coolants with g11/g12 does it cause all kinds of havoc etc etc

it'll turn brown and get all jell-o like. I've been running dex-cool for the last year and half without any problems. Like mentioned before a good flush will allow you to switch coolant or get rid of the nasty stuff.

You may have head gasket corrosion in the long run. That's why VW switched from G11 (green) to G12 (pink).

Correct me if im wrong, but the only diff in the G11 and G12 now is the color. It used to be because of the phophous, but now they are all phosphate free so now its only the color of the dye. The pink dye shows up better if you have a leak because it builds up and leaves a bright stain.

As for dex-cool. I would avoid that stuff. GM has had nothing but issues with cars that have dex in the system. It gets this nasty brown buildup in the system and clogs up rad. causing the car to over heat. GM has re-done the mix on this many times to try and stop it, but have yet to get the issues taken care of.

I have used the "g-05" you can get at places like autozone and napa, its made for euro cars and is alot cheeper. It can be mixed with any coolant without issues and is almost clear so it will not stain plastic bottles.

I still like the g-11 the best.

Sorry, but you're wrong. G11 is completely incompatible with G12.

and G12 is better than G11 since they were having issues with G11......but now we got G12+ which can be mix with both
