Chicago area "Spotted" Thread

I saw a beat up TR Mk3 GTI in a garage, a CW MkV R32 in the driveway along with another black Mk3 GTI, a MkIV DBP R32, a CW GTI in the road with steelies on it (wonder who that was), and a 98 Audi 1.8T 5MT Quattro.

Oops, this was at my friends house.

We had a few VAG cars at his house.

no damage, when it left. it was parked in a tow zone outside the chase bank, so the tow truck made a u-turn and hitched it from the rear and took off down wabash. Prolly will have some serious scratches from the impound lot though

Was this in Algonquin and was the Audi Pearl white?

Well, the house I was at was off of Haligus Rd which is off of 62 in Huntley, but yes, Dymtro with the Audi is from Algonquin. I believe it's pearl white.

It's a 98 with Unitronics Stg 1+, intake, test pipe with a catback making it a TBE, 18" black summer rims and 15" stock rims with all seasons for the winter, no HID's.

if it was the guy thats always around there then yea, he's a jerk. I talked to him once about comin to some events (even though i rarely make them myself) and all he said was " Why, because we're both black?" my response was So if it was him then, at gettin towed

All those cars must be new to huntley and algonquin cause ive never seen them .....Me and a couple buddys where the only people in algonquin -huntley that had nice VWs (Corrados ,GTI,Jetta) from 1999-2003 ive been in the ARMY since 03 but ill be home again in May and my Vws will be out again ..

I saw a lot of VW's today in Chicago area, while heading to City of VW for APR Stg 2.

On I90 east, right after a toll, about 3 or 4 miles before exit 44A for Riggly (sp) Field, I saw a UG MkV GTI with the DRL's on and it looked lowered and maybe Votex? I tried to slow down, but it looks like you exited soon after. This was at about 12:30 this afternoon (12/17). I was in the CW GTI lowered on winter steelies.

I also saw a DBP MkIV R32 with stock Imola's on it and perhaps exhaust being serviced at City of VW when I was leaving. Clean.

At about 2:30, right by 83 and on Rt 12 near Autobarn MP, I saw a BMP GTI with black rims on it. You flashed your flash to pass headlights at me a couple times. Looked lowered? Nice ride.

Then at about 2:40, I decided to head the other direction on 12 (east I think) to go to Wendy's and I see a TR MkV GTI heading west. The driver was staring me down as he drove past me.

Finally, when I got back to Autobarn MP at 3:00, I see a porter pulling out another BMP GTI with winter steelies on it; I'm not sure if it was the same GTI that I saw at 2:30. It was lowered.

Trying to remember what else I saw. I saw a few Beetles, some nice T'Reg's, a Eurovan on I90, Conrad's MkV CW GTI, and a bunch of MkIV's.

There's a lot more VW support in Chicago area than the far suburbs.
