Honestly, I had my friend in the car today to show him the slipping clutch, and it didn't slip once. Not in 3rd gear, not in 6th gear while holding 16 pounds of boost.

I've been taking it easy lately, averaging 24mph in this frigid weather, but I don't get it. I'm going to wait until end of March, early April to see what the warmer weather along with my summer tires have to say about it.

When it was slipping real badly, it was at or below 0 deg. Today the testing was done at ~15 deg. But it's "slipped" at warmer temps. Car was completely warmed up. Maybe I'm just imagining it's the tires?

spotted marshmallow man the other day on 35th and Lithuanica. I was freazin my cojones off waiting for the bus and he just drove on by with his lady friend and some dude in the back seat. Looked nice and warm in there. No worries though, doctor says I should get the feeling back in the toes that didn't fall off soon.

Clutch slip and tire spin does not and should not feel the same. They are similar in that both make the car sound like it's accelerating faster than it is.... but the feel is different. What clutch do you have in there now?

Stock. I was talking to a friend with GIAC, ATP DP, and intake (basically Stg 2) that lives in Bolingbrook (TR MkV GTI) Chris, and he has had similar issues and he's at 13k. Seems fine once the car/clutch is completely warmed up. I think I'm going to see how it does if it starts getting warmer out and I have the summer tires on. Maybe I'll beat on it to see.

Yea, definitely try it on dry pavement with the summer tires when it gets warmer. Warmer tires grip better than colder tires, as well, so you might want to do some fast paced driving to warm them up. Don't just do a burnout to warm them up because that involves clutch wear, obviously.

Haha, yeah. I'll have to try that. Maybe I'll bring my car to GLD to see if the clutch is indeed bad.

The thing is, once it's slipping, it's slipping, so obviously something is giving, cold or not. Or is it? That's what worries me. I think I'm going to end up having to replace it sooner than later.

The newest body style Passat is a B6.

Did it have multispoke OEM Passat rims? (10 spoke, gunmetalish color to them).

It was a sedan? I also saw a white B6 Passat sedan lowered on those rims in Crystal Lake when I did Pizza delivery in the summer. Not sure if it's the same guy, but white B6's =

I spotted a lot of VW's and Audi's today with my friend's on the way to the Chicago Auto Show.

At 2:00, I saw a CW MkV GTI heading west on 290 with it's HID's on.

Then not 3 minutes later, I saw a CW Rabbit heading the same direction on 290.

At 2:20, I saw a black MkV GLI heading east on 290 with Classix rims on it. You were turning off at an exit while we were going further into Chicago downtown area.

Then at 2:30, I spotted another CW MkV GTI.

At around the same time, I saw a red MkIV GTI with funky tailights and a 20th body kit on Monte Carlo's rims on some road in Chicago that I was not familar with (right near McCormick Place).

At about 7:00pm, we spotted a silver B6 Audi A4 right by Soldier Field that was lowered on BBS looking rims.

Finally, at 7:20pm, I spotted yet another CW MkV GTI heading east on 290.

    CW is too popular.

These spottings do not include the numerous B6 and B7 A4's we saw in addition to that silver one. I also saw a couple of other MkIV and MkV Jetta's.

Around 1 pm, Lincoln Park, I saw a white MkV R32. And a few minutes later, passed a white MkIII GTI w/ some different wheels. It was parked in what I would consider a significant crub lake ( water up to the side skirts!)
RIP MkIII Jetta. 6 years, 160k miles and countless memories.

I don't have steelies. I have Montreal II's as winter wheels. Are they THAT dirty...or are you just NOT as down w/ Dubs as we all think you are?

I'll CONFIRM tho! I was @ Barnes stealing about $26-worth of info from a $32 book I didn't want to pay for.

And I took a parking spot facing Lagrange! It's hard to miss the Buckit!
