I didn't own a 987 Boxster (although I am about to haha) so I am not 100% sure, but I think you are right. On the 986, my S had twin round exhaust from memory.

Just get the car's vin and ring Porsche to reveal all. They are very good with the original specs of the cars from the factory.Michael

thinking about this for a track toy... Matt aren't you the guru on 944's? or did you dad have one?
It's just got a slightly mobile rear end on it

#2212
boxter/cayman have single exhaust, s models have dual exhausts.
same on 986/987

I was hoping we could go halve's wayne properly maintained they are built for the track heheheh, just tyres and brakes.

true but I want road and track, a weekend toy, something I can teach Aston about working on cars, there is also an auto 968 going cheap might be worth converting..

Apparently there is a recall for the Spyder as a couple of roof have blown off!Luckily there is already a fix and my car is not in production yet. I bet it has to do with the rear clip as that thing in my opinion was not so secure. Apparently the issue has surfaced at fairly high speed, close to Porsche's recommendation of not exceeding 200kmh with the roof on.
#2217
the roof is just a band-aid; a temporary fix. who would be stupid enough to drive at over 200 clicks with it on?![]()
#2218
There's a question as to whether you can safely drive at 200km/h on Australian roads, but if the car is capable of doing 250km/h, the roof should be good for that.

Nobody would believe it could exceed the speed limit.

Why would anyone think they can sell a 3 year old turbo for $300k?

Whats a new one go for? 370k?
On that particular turbo they seem to have pulled a wing off a Civic and stuck it on

Depends on what it has with it. Retail before on roads is $360k. But this is the updated model which landed earlier this year and is a heck of a lot better than the rather lack lustre 997.1 turbo.

You're suggesting that you'd actually get a chance to take the roof off.Last week it was sunny for 3 days, but still about 8 degrees - so I imagine a spyder owner would also need a Porsche hoodie & gloves...

.Lotus Evora - 7.5/10
Audi TT RS - 8/10
Porsche Caymen S - 9/10So Porsche wins again. Have to read it now to see what they actually say.
#2238
thanks wayne, yes, read it last nite.wheels basically said the same things as motor, although these guys totally bagged out the evora, noting that the engine and tranny were total crap - just as i had said after i drove the exige cup 260.....
it's the first time i've read a negative review of a lotus. ever. they also said the pricing was a farce.
the audi is looking good, the only improvement it needs is in the gearchange and steering feel departments. they said it was a "point to point weapon"; i think i had said that too....

#2239
What it said about the TT RS is exactly what I said here when you asked me. Motor didn't quite go into the same sort of discussion on the TT from memory.
#2240
i really like the ttrs. daily driver par excellence! i like it better than the cayman.
