Thanks all for the nice wishes. It's my birthday too today so I will just take those wishes as my birthday well wishes as well.

And James, you missed the point of all the Santa Fe and interior gag, and why I said I am not buying another Porsche for awhile. This is the Porsche that I brought to RC.

Chicks only dig leather not turbo, but everyone dig the sound of a proper V8 engine.

I let that through to the keeper yesterday as I'm not exactly an expert on Melbourne commercial radio, but I had my suspicions. Thanks for confirming them

Wouldn't mind seeing the RS 4.0 compared to the R35.

How good was the prices of the three cars, I know it's all been said before, but what £100k to £120k would buy any one of the 3? Bastard5!

An hour with a heat gun and a visit to the wheel/tyre shop and it'd be ok. What's the price like compared to other 08 Caymans ?

    Too high

r35 is fast for sure, but the laws of physics take over when you run for extended periods at a time and take their toll on the consumables. can just imagine tyres, brakes etc with all that mass and drive on the front-end. high maintenance slut she will be...

Isn't that why you buy two GT-Rs, instead of one Porsche?

I think it is the best car in the world. It's configurations are not being matched yet to any one.

Sure there is ~300kg weight advantage with the RS, but given it is 2WD, the tyre bill would still be higher than the R35. As for the rest of the "consumables", I'd happier paying for Nissan replacements at 30-50% of the Porka costs 10-15% more often! Not to mention being faster everywhere, every time in every condition...

I see it very differently not because I am a Porsche fan boy. For me, I don't need the fastest car out there. I have reach the point where the 997 GT3 is about enough for me not to go "wish it has a bit more power" when on the track. This is why I would be happy to buy a used RS at some stage and make it my track biitch for years to come. What I'm after is not outright speed any more as long as it is fast enough, but feel and the sensation of speed. I also don't want electronics and AWD to do everything for me. I'm too old to try to chase lap times, I just want enjoyment. Afterall, I can do 1:19s at Sandown with the GT3, how much faster do I really need to go? Therefore, GT-R just won't work for me.

Clearly, you have not driven one at the track, or in a real hurry up a mountain road. I have heard the same thing said about GTR's from loads of folks. I haven't heard it mentioned from anyone who has actually driven one in anger.
