Wayne - latest Motor Rag has a comparo of GTS vs X5M vs ML63 vs GC SRT8.
good reading
Verdict - GTS - Drive's like a sportscar and sounds like a V8 supercar. Not the fastest but definitely the best all round package.

What do they say about the SRT-8 ? Have a look on YOUTUBE for the vids of the 1000hp kits for Hemi![]()
"excessive chassis yaw" is a $176 fine.

One of my work mates has a deposit for an SRT8 - about $86k onroad with sunroof+audio, not bad for 334kW - dealers seem pretty clueless about stock & delivery though - what's the rest of the article say?

I'm speechless. That is so cool. Only in Japan indeed. You just have to love Japanese car culture. They know their stuff too, not just like the recently rich people of China and Russia or even the Middle East (they are getting better though) who have little in the way of taste.

Different mate, this one's white /red.
Having driven a few at the track, tbh I always thought they were vastly over-rated. On nice driving roads though, I have to say it was one of the nicest things I have driven in anger. Not the quickest point to point by miles, but really really nice. Even up and down both sides of the Jenolan Caves road which is narrow and quiet rough in places, it was great.
Main problem for me though is that although it is lovely thing to own, it is a a rubbish car for day to day use, a very mediocre track/competition car, and a fantastic car for driving on roads at a rate I really can't do very often........

What's a "rare" 997 worth $275k? GT2 or GT3RS?

You firm up my reasoning to own only the twin turbo version... one day... soon..... I would love to see your review one day of the 911T if you ever (or have already) driven one, hopefully one that has a few extra power mods too to boost it a few 100kw's over stock to satisfy your quench there also....
Quattro drivers do it on all fours....

Sorry, I was being sarcastic!
Looking at some of the comparative ALMS times for Laguna Seca they would suggest that something in the minute fifties would be possible??
