woah totaly forgot about this post.

well i still have the same gsxr600 and i am sitting pretty at over 55k miles in her.

havent really had many big issues couple things here and there from riding year round in phx but i still love riding htis thing,

i must say though that i replaced the seat with another oem one a couple months ago and i did not realize the original one had all but turned to stone.

Well, my current bike has somewhere between 30k and 31k on it, and I bought it used with about 600 miles on it, so let's call that 30k.

IIRC, I put about 15k or 17k on my old bike before wrecking it, so let's call that 16k.

Which brings me to a total of about 46k.

Needless to say, my annual mileage plummeted when my daughter arrived on the scene about six years ago.

My childless brother, on the other hand, has well over 100k total.

Street miles: Probably around 9000 or 10000.

Offroad: More than I can count.

When I got my latest bike I thought I'd make up for all the miles I never road when I was to broke to afford anything 2 wheeled. Then I realized I carry too much to commute to work on a bike and my job has me gone 4 days out of the week. Meaning even my car gets less than 10k miles a year. Now I'm back in school and I want to take my bike when the weather warms up a bit more but again I carry too much stuff(of which I have no choice) so I'm trying to figure out a bag situation for the rear and tank as saddle bags aren't an option with the high mount exhaust. If not I fear I'll be selling the bike as I can't watch it sit around
I tell them to tackle the concrete at walking speeds and re-think their position.

Just under 50,000 miles. SV is about to roll over 40k (I bought it with 19k on it). Its going to be damn hard to sell that thing, come that time.

    5,545 miles since July 2011.

Some things I have learned since.
    1. Confidence is everything.
    2. Assume the cagers are after you.
    3. You go where you look.
    4. Speed and agility. Know them.
    5. If you are not smiling you are doing it wrong.
    6. ATTGAT. It's your skin.
    7. Learning from your mistakes is part of the process. Embrace it.
    8. You should know who Keith Code and Lee Parks are.

yes cops are always after you,
cars are not to be trusted. but i found that if you wave to the kids they will make their parents aware of where you are

and the ground always hurts so dont look at it look wher you want to go.

oh and the knowledge i gained from my last ticket taught me that bikes are always doing something wrong and cars can do anything.
i literaly sped up to avoid getting hit by a guy that ran a stop sign and nearly pinned me into the side of an escalade driven by a blonde tween. i check my shoulder and the lights are on following me

I went through 5 back tires on my 1198 before I hit 4,000 miles. That thing ate tires like a fat kid does cake. I did do about 5 track days that year though

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty, and if its speed dropped, the bus would explode! I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

I am sure I have a few years on you lads, so lets tally it up....

    20K on a CB550
    89K on a FJ600
    29K on a CB650
    104K on a R1100GS
    59K on a GSX1100

So 301K or New york to LA and back, 50x!

In the above were two trips to Alaska and the haul road. Trips that everyone should try to get to.
I don't get to do the big trips anymore, so now I am only doing about 10K a year now.

Is that to Prudhoe Bay at the top of Alaska? Some friends were planning that trip this year but plans fell through. Would like to do it some time, though.

Yes it is. My first trip up there was in 94, the first year it was open to the public all the way to Prudhoe. I did it on my GSX1100. My second trip was on the R1100GS. Don't wait for friends to do it with, you will meet plenty of riders on the way and will have many opportunities to team up with others.

15k in two years on my CB750. I use it for commuting, about a 9 or so mile trip each way and I make that trip every day, plus errands. If I had more time the mileage would be higher for fun reasons.
