Thread: Best New Beer You've Tried Recently?

  1. 08-26-2007 06:08 PM #1
I know, every thread I start in this forum is about beer

Anyways, for me, it has to be Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat.

I went to a restaurant, asked for a Blue Moon and they reccomended this instead. With me being always happy to try a new beer I was blown away. It's delicious. If you haven't tried this, go find some.

Tried Rickard's White the other night. It was on tap at a local pub I really like. Then I had a few bottles Friday night. I enjoyed it, but to be honest it is the only new beer I've tried recently. Just did some searching and it looks like it is distributed in the U.S. as Blue Moon.

I agree witht the Sunset Wheat. It is better than Blue Moon. Heck, I recently went to their brewery.

I do like thei Summer Shandy.

Saint Arnolds put Oktoberfest in stores 2x weeks ago. Been drinking a lot of that as it taste like what Shiner 98 should have tasted like....

Been drinking copious amounts of Lagunitas Sirius lately. I enjoy that beer very much.

Tried Spaten Oktoberfest on saturday as well.... nice beer.

Took a trip up to Wisconsin to see my sister, and we went to the Sprecher brewery. They're better known for their Root Beer, but their Special Amber and Scotch Style beer was awesome.

Two of them, thanks to my brewer and beer guru friend:

    Ommegang: Three Philosophers

    Old Belgium: Mothership Wit

And both are just . First domestic white for me, much milder than the Belgian ones, less spicey, but man...sooo goood...

And that Ommegang, like all of there brews...just delicious...

My $0.02 and my two offerings...

Gone and missed: '84 Scirocco, '81 Scirocco S, '80 HiLux 4x4, '77 Kawi Enduro, '74 sparkling green Schwinn Stingray

I bleed Guinness. But, I have a new mistress in the world of beers. Anything Victory rules this stuff however is amazing. Rated 100 by beer advocate.

Expensive, but seriously the best beer going. I like to start with 3 of those then move on to the cheaper stuff.

Tried it when it first replaced India Pale Ale in taster's packs and I've been drinking it alot since then. Very tasty stuff, one local bar serves it with a slice of orange.

Super popular here in S.E. Texas / Louisana border country. It is a good beer.

Last night I had some Saint Arnolds Texas Wheat and some Shiner Hefeweizen. Both were very nice beers.

Of course it's company policy never to, imply ownership in the event of a dildo... always use the indefinite article a dildo, never your dildo.

^ Have you tried any other Spaten/Fransziskaner or Paulaner brews? Awesome. How about other German brews? I think those above are the tip of the iceberg...best beer in the world, IMHO...

Friend of mine worked on the bottling line at Abita this summer. Said everyone there drinks this stuff constantly. Haven't tried it yet.

i've had a few. there is a german restaurant/beer garden i frequent that has a lot of these available... not sure if on tap or not, but i've had 3 or 4 different Spaten's and some other's i don't remember the name of as well as all they offer at Hofbrauhaus Vegas including their Maibock. i've been reading the beer drinker's guide to Munich lately and i really need to get out there and hit the big beer gardens. i've had a lot of really good Belgian beers i like too. Gulden Draak, Piraat, Triple Karmielet, Corsendonk, etc...
