Just grabbed a 4pak of the Goose Island Bourbon County Stout.

Store had Clown Shoes for the first time too...so picked up a bottle of Imperial Stout.

Bourbon County Stout is one of my all time favorite beers. I think I like the coffee version better than Black Tuesday.

It's a solid beer for sure. Not the best coffee stout I've ever had by any means, but a good one. Last bottle I had was fairly old and it definitely faded. Think this one is probably best fresh.

Wow, don't know that I'd pay that much for WWS, even aged, but that's not a HORRIBLE markup... I'm looking forward to finally cracking my November 2008 bottle. Thinking I'll wait another year on it, so that it has five years on it. Have a feeling it'll be nice and smoothed out by then.

Damn good. Hard to find because I guess their place got wrecked in serious flooding a year or two ago. Good to see them coming back strong.
I've had two cans of it and it's so damn good. My favorite IPA/IIPA. Really need to get my hands on more of it.

Never had a better combination. However, we tried this one, aged 18 months. Sadly, i do not recommend it aged. Just got sugary sweet, followed by bitter. Bummer.
That's a shame. GREAT beer when fresh. Seriously underrated/under-appreciated, IMO.

Hard as hell to get, and just did not do enough. And I am a fan of barrel aged. Good, I'd still say try it if you can find it, but watching a couple of these bottles go for $35-45 is not worth it.
Agree with the other guy. $35-45? Really? Like he said, I can go buy bottles of that right now. Well, maybe not right now, as it's 11:30. Never tried it, but I feel like great Widmer beers are far and between.

Drank this and was actually surprised that I didn't absolutely hate it.

This bottle was about a year old, so maybe age actually helped it out a bit. I don't know.

Earlier today, before the Rogue beer...

One of the best beers out of Arizona, Four Peaks Hop Knot. I'm all for IPAs in cans.

Well, today I went to Bomber's Burrito Bar in Schenectady with Run Dub and had UFO Pumpkin ale served in a cinnamon-sugar rimmed glass. It was glorious.

This though, I am even happier with:

Good, simple red ale. It tastes loud(which is a weird adjective) and is so darn good.

I love that stuff. Lakefront Brewery itself is awesome, too: real dingy, old school, piecemeal brewing facilities with a kickass beer hall above it

Had Sweetwater IPA on draft last weekend, has a nice hint on orange and bit of citrus in it. very smooth too, doesn't leave a bitter after taste

Heady Topper is still THE best IPA I've had.

finally got around to trying this one. it was like drinking liquid smoke... feel free to shake the bottom of a bag of pork rinds into your least favorite brown ale to recreate the flavor. love the bottle but the beer inside was a huge letdown, and I am usually a fan of Rogue.

I had a chance to expand my options when I was in Washington state last weekend. I split a bottle of Parabola with a friend who had picked one up. Holy crap, that is a serious beer! Pours like motor oil It's quite delicious though. The nose is a little bourbon-heavy but it tastes wonderful.

I also picked up a bottle of their Double DBA and Wookey Jack Black Rye IPA. I'll probably crack open the Wookey Jack this weekend and save the Double DBA for a special occasion.

Tried the Old Rasputin on nitro at a local pub and it was unbelievable. Like drinking a beer milkshake

No pics but I was at a brewpub this weekend and tried their Hasukappu Weisse:

A local collaboration; we teamed up with LaHave Natural Farms and the Haskap Growers Association of Nova Scotia to create a brilliant and delicious brew comprised of - the Haskap berry. North America's first commercially produced Haskap berry beer. The spicy phenols of our hefeweizen combine with the tartness of the Haskap for a refreshing, acidic finish.
      Was delicious.

Had the Lost Abbey which was pretty good, but the winner of the night was this:

Clown Shoes/Brash collab called Pimp. Double brown ale, almost in the stout territory. Been aging about 5 months. Absolutely fantastic beer. I wish I had bought more bottles of it.

I always pass on Clown Shoes because I think their names/labels are dumb. Think that one is still at stores around here.

regarding the Rogue VooDoo Maple Bacon Donut beer: BLEGH.

a friend of mine came over the other night, and we decided to try it. i poured him a small beerfest sample glass, and a regular glass for myself. while the bottle certainly smelled good, and not too over-powered with smokey or maple smells, taste was a different story.

he had about half his small glass, and i had just a couple sips of mine, and we both agreed that's all we needed. so i still have about 1/3 of the bottle left in my fridge.

worst part though, both the beers were in an assumed safe spot on my coffee table. apparently, there is no safe spot when you have a kitten. the little bastard got curious with the smell and leaned forward too far, resulting in her clinging to the coffee table and regaining balance only to knock both glasses over on my carpet. i used almost a whole roll of paper towels to sop up the beer, but now my living room smells of liquid smoke, maple, and ****ty febreeze. good thing i'm moving in five weeks.
      welcome to the layer cake

      Drank this beast earlier today...

Very good and SUPER easy drinking, given the 15%. Can still get bottles at like $6 for a 22oz bomber, so will likely buy more. Might do a Fifteen and Sweet Sixteen side-by-side and get absolutely trashed, haha.

Now onto this, as I wanted something completely different.

Such a great beer. Shame I'm drinking it in Arizona, where I can't run to the nearest Piggly Wiggly and get more, haha. Fortunately, I do have one more in the fridge and three more back in my parent's basement in southern WI (along with some other goodies). Drinking this now kind of makes me want to crack an R&D Sour Ale... but I think that's best done at a time when I can share.
