Whats up everyone. Anyone know of someone selling a KO3s with no shaft play? Mine just took a dump. I'm saving for a BT but for now I need to find another KO3s to put in so I have my daily back. for Friday Night
I decided to get the BT kit from CTS. Its being pieced together now and should be on its way this week
I already pulled the stock K03s out and damn...big time shaft play. Journal bearings were shot. Can't wait to be BT. Within the next 3 weeks I'll have everything put back together. New paint job on the intake mani, valve cover, got the 42DD catch can on its way, new concepts in motion vent gauge pod, and new rotors, pads, ss lines. BT kit is Precision T3/T4 50 trim 63ar w/ thermal coating on exhaust mani & turbo, unitronics 630 file, with 630 injectors. Already have eurojet FMIC, 3" DP. Pics to come if interested.
nice. are you going to make a build thread? or somewhere were we can see the work?
I will. Going to start the thread starting with the stock K03s out. I took a video of how much shaft play on the bad turbo....damn there is a lot. I'll put it up on youtube this weekend so everyone can see. I plan on taking pics of all things I do during the install.
Got my Kinetic Big Turbo kit in last night!!! I came home after work to a present awaiting me in my living room Imediately opening it to hold the beauty of power. I knew from seeing pictures a stock turbo is much much smaller than a 50 trim but it didn't sink in til I had a side by side comparison right in front of me. Def can't wait to get started on the install. My first day off on tues got to finish up the brake kit install, then get on the install
Nice rabbit. I need to get some low....hows the drop with the front lip? I already scrape mine from time to time around lubbock, so I am bracing myself for what it is like this summer when i get coils or a cup kit.
Thanks! Third day i had it installed i scrapped it getting out of the driveway. Was in a hurry and forgot it was there I love it though. It gives it so much more of an aggressive and classier look. Just go slow and at angles and you should be fine.
Made a facebook group to hopefully get more local VW's on the forum and out to a meet.
Best name I could come up with as the idea hit. Can always go back and change it
I was hoping to get a new flyer design but my friend has yet to get back to me about it. This way we could just point people to the facebook group instead of trying to get them on the forum or hope they show up on the tuesday after they get tagged. Might help us get a decent meet together...
If your shelling out 70 bucks for a oil change you might as well go to a dealer, as that is about what they would charge and your assured the proper weight not to mention its VAG's specific oil blend. I would say your fine but like the other thread says when the Austin summer hits I would change to 5w-40.
Hey everyone. My deployment is more than half over now. Just a few more months to go. Got some big plans for the GLI when I get back. Its going under the knife for some sweet go fast parts. Stroker kit, AEB head, tons of misc things, should be looking at a daily 400-450whp I've also got a B5.5 Passat that I'll be parting out. My roommate just pcs'd from England. He has a 03 GTI VR6 soon to be VRT! From what he says there has been a big dubb scene building in Clovis. Saw the Lub-Dub post. Sent a request for that.
Oh the Passat is a 1.8t AEB if anyone is interested in some parts. Everything will be for sale except the head
Whats up, i got and confirmed your Lub-Dub request. If you want to meet up just let me know. Not much doing in Lubbock lately, though if Clovis has a scene I would be 100% down for a road trip!
Come this fall when I get back from Afgahistan we will have a min of 2 high hp dubs in Clovis. Can't wait to get back and get this project rollin! I will have everything waiting for me when I get back so I can get started right away. Do you guys know of a really good machine shop in Lubbock that can put in my stroker kit? I emailed one company but they never got back to me (total engine). I plan on taking the engine out the day after I get back. I've already started ordering parts.
Only a couple more weeks til I start buying my parts! Starting off with 2.0L stroker kit (probably 8.5 c/r), LSD (still yet to be determined what brand), BFI stage 2 motor + tranny + dogbone mounts, clutchmasters fx400 w/ steel lightweight flywheel, Tial bov, and Greddy profec 2 spec b boost controller. I already have a 058 block I'm taking the AEB head off of. I decided to get all the things done that I can first that requires the engine/trans to be out of the car, then everything else will be relatively easy. Sept/Oct purchases will bring some nice additions with SEM intake mani, new Precision fmic core w/ custom piping (going to powdercoat), 3" Milltek exhaust....hopefully by the end of the year slapping on a billet precision 5857 ceramic ball bearing snail to this baby will complete all the performance. Of course there are other misc other things going into the car but that will be all covered in the build thread coming as soon as I return from this nasty country in the middle east.
The discount on 82nd and university had to be talked into just a 205/40 on my 17x7. So if your looking to fit your saw blades I would look to a small private tyre shop. There is a place on 34th somewhere but I can't seem to remember the cross street. Lots of mom and pop tyre shops on the east side that would surely do it.
