It was done for "style" if you will. We wanted something a little different from the normal shaved mk2 bays that you see. To be honest. I wasn't happy with the way that it came out until the engine was dropped in and everything seemed to flow well. I was about ready to cut it out and just go with the stock look. Im happy the way it is though.
    Thanks fellas!

Dreadz said it's a MK4, but the MK4 one that resembles it is plastic.

It also doesn't have a uniform "hump" on the driverside (flares out on MK4 12v).

That VC is just a regular 12v metal valvecover with the crankcase breathing hump welded/shaved, the oil cap shaved, and the space for the throttle cable shaved.

I think you're right. I'm gonna ask the owner just to be sure.

Lots left to do but getting there. Gotta find a new OEM round headlamp support and leave the rad cap hidden/inaccessible.

Ignore the temp red wires and the temp fuel rail and temp brake res.

In case you don't know the car:

Dude... look one (just one) page back.in this very thread - the answer is at the top of this page.

Also - quoting a string of pictures 2 posts after they're posted is fantastic internet etiquette.

So i just have a fleeting thought, it may have been covered within the thread but when I do a search within the thread of 'ground wires' nothing really comes up. So my question is what do you guys do about the body grounds that go to the various side markers lights etc?

I was playing around with a bracket to mount my coil on the block of my vr6. now, im wondering if i dont have to ground it since it's right on the motor as the strap went to it anyway.

I mounted mine in the exact same location. I ran a ground strap fromt he coilpack to one of the manifold bolts. Not sure if it was needed, but it didnt hurt

Ground it using a ground strap. i made the mistake of thinking the same thing & one day on my way home from the shop my car cut out. For the life i couldn't figure it out. Then i realize the bracket had broke severing the ground. So when i made another bracket, i grounded the CP using a strap separate from the bracket. This way if it breaks again, it will still have a ground attached.
