Well, I heard from my dealer that the Passat will only be 4-motion in the wagon. So it wouldnt suprise me if this were true also.

I heard that the new Jetta Sportwagon is supposed to be available with the 2.0T engine/DSG combination. So, let me see if I get this straight. The wagon will be able to be equipped this way, but the sedan won't, unless you opt for the GLI?????? Why would VW take this option away from the standard Jetta, and then offer it immediately back in the wagon version of the car? Is there going to be a GLI wagon equivalent???? If not, what is the logic behind VW doing this????? Oh, wait...........VW doesn't use logic anymore. My mistake..........

I was on the VW website yesterday and you can configure a Jetta sedan as a 2.0T non GLI.- Jeremy.

I spoke with VW of A today. The website has not been updated yet. It still shows 2007 models. As of last year the 2.0T/DSG combo was available on the non GLI Jetta. Not so for 2008....

correct, also 2.0T sales in the Jetta "line" not the GLI, were not nearly as strong as the GLI. Hence the removal there.

I am anxiously awaiting March when these are supposed to hit the US. My wife loves it. The fire at the 2.5l plant pushed the date back to March.

Maybe...........of course I don't see the Sportwagon's sales being huge enough to justify the inclusion of the 2.0T/DSG combo either. The wagon is a niche automobile that will appeal to some, but I bet the non GLI sedan will still outsell it. Plus, my understanding is the wagon will be $1,000.00 more than the sedan equivalent. We'll see how long it takes VW to remove the 2.0T/DSG from the wagon...

I wouldnt doubt it being more but at least the wagon could do justice to the jetta back end...or maybe not.
