What is the big deal about the fixed bikes? I was out of riding for a good 5 years and i come back and this is all i hear about. Whats so special about it? Why does everybody want to do it?

its fun. for me it is about a simpler time when riding bikes was just about the riding. had nothing to do with the equipment

seems to me that freewheel riders make a bigger deal about fixed bikes that fixed riders do.
